S33 light is blue, but no internet connection. Xfinity

This has happened a few times now, but this time it has not come back on after 12 hours.  Router indicating no internet, and attempts at using wired ethernet connection have failed. Oddly enough the light remains blue even when I disconnect the coaxial cable.  The unit is only about a year old.  Any ideas?

SBG6950AC2 wont let me use internet though can connect

So got a SBG6950AC2 WiFi cable modem less than 3 months ago and yesterday was saying I didn’t have internet though showed me connected. I did a power cycle, went through my provider (Xfinity) all seems good there showing interest getting to router. I haven’t tried a lan cable due to not having one currently. I deactivated my service to modem. Not tech savvy enough to feel comfortable going in to change settings without confirmation might help. Then I did a full reset and still facing the same problem. I can’t find any customer support on this site besides you guys and hopefully can get some help before my zoom interviews!

Xfinity and S33 modem slow speeds

I’ve got the infamous 1.2gig service from Xfinity, they have checked and replaced everything they have changed the channel that my box connects to to their service, my speeds have not exceeded 500 mbps which is less than half. I thought it was a double NAT issue because they can only provide their own gateway modems which act as routers as well, but it’s still happening with the new S33 Arris modem I purchased just last week. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a quick fix to cause the modem to recognize at what speeds it should be getting?I have the app, but it’s no help for this problem whatsoever.

Why does my SBG6782-AC hung and needs reboot every two days

I’ve been using my SBG6782-AC gateway with Xfinity cable (300Mb/10Mb) for several years without needing any reboots. I’ve noticed in the last three months my gateway would get hung about every two days--all the front-panel lights stay lid and all wifi connections dropped--and the only solution is to recycle power to the gateway. Does anyone have this problem? I’m wondering if the circuit board is dying and some electronic components need to be replaced. I’m using both wired and n/ac wifi mode. Looking at the modem logs revealed no clues.Thanks for any insights.

Wifi Isn't Broadcasting in Bridge Mode

I’ve not found anybody who has had a similar experience, but please forgive me if this has been answered before.I have a SurfBoard SVG2482AC that I am trying to use in bridge mode. I set it up successfully a week or so ago, but then decided I wanted to change the SSID login off of custom to make it easier to access. I factory reset the modem, changed the settings, and now I cannot get the wifi to broadcast. I’ve factory reset the modem a number of times, tried  googling solutions, and am completely stumped. Nothing I do seems to work, the US/DS light blinks consistently. The 2.4/5ghz light will blink in unison for a moment every time I power cycle the modem, but they stop flashing and never flash again, until I try another power cycle.Is there a setting that I am missing in the setup that is causing this issue? When I factory reset the modem, the device has no issue broadcasting both 2.4 and 5 ghz signals and I am able to connect to them. This ‘only’ happens in bridge mode.

I have Xfinity and recently bought a G36 modem. It is sluggish, and sometimes the internet stops altogether. Some days I have to power it down 2 or 3 times just to get decent internet speed. Is ther a fix, or is this just a lemon?

I dropped my Arris sbg7580 cable modem router. I’m trying to open it up because there are pieces rattling around inside. I don’t want to power it up in case it’s a fire hazard. Any idea how to open the case?

Internet dropping once / day SB6141

I’ve had my self-installed SB6141 for several years.  Up till now has never been a problem.  However I am now seeing my Internet access interrupted roughly once per day.  Installed a new router thinking the problem was Wifi related but now I am not sure.  Router manufacturer is pointing finger at cable modem. Have already had ISP at house, they replaced cable from their box to the cable modem. When incident happens my router indicates trouble reaching the Internet - some devices have an internet connection, some do not.  I power cycle the router and Internet comes back up for all devices. All lights on cable modem are normal. Any suggestions?  Thanks - Richard in Allentown, PA - RCN customer, “up to 50 Mbps” services with actual speed test 146.8 Mbps download / 18.2 Mbps upload

Modem disrupting internet functionality

My ISP claims that its service disruption is limited to a couple of events between December, 2022 and January, 2023.  My experience of problems with internet connections is far more frequent than that.The event log available on the modem’s web page is overwriting more recent events, but there is a persistent error that repeats, in conjunction with other error(4) messages:"SW upgrade Failed after download - Incompatible SW file"  When this happens, my internet connection is lost, and often my Arris Mesh network becomes unavailable as well.  I’ve talked to my ISP technical representatives about this.  They have no interest at all in helping figure what might be going on between the modem and the local whole house wifi.  So much for the event log being important to the ISP.  That might be true if the ISP is supporting this model of modem and renting it out.Question 1:  If I interpret this event as one where Arris attempted to upgrade the modem software, but the upgrade failed, why would

Tivo Premiere?

I have an SBG10. I checked my WiFi network using Fing and my gateway is showing a TiVo Premiere at 192.168.0.1. I don’t have a TiVo Premiere. My Arris router is listed at 192.168.0.252.  Any explanation?

How to Setup porn blocker on W21 mesh router

Hello everyone,  I am trying to establish a porn block on my wifi. I just recently installed the SB8200 modem with W21 mesh routers (2 in use).  When I enter the IP address into my web browser, I only get my modem and not the router, therefore, I’m not getting any of the options to change the DNS server settings.  The parental controls on the surfboard app only allow me to block certain devices from accessing the wifi.  But I need to allow the devices to be in use, just block any adult content.  Thanks, Jeff

Browsing History

I am replacing a Touchstone TG1682G Telephony Gateway modem / router from Spectrum with a new Spectrum modem. On older modems and roouters I was able to go in and clear the browing history before returning it to spectrum, Wanted to know if this modem keeps a wifi browsing history and if so how can I can I clear it. I have gone in and cleared the system logs, but didn’t know if that is all I need to do. Thanks in advance for the help.

SB8200 Causing interference with cable TV

I Installed a new SB8200 on my network today.  Everything is fine with the internet.  It’s nice and fast.  However, I have 3 cable boxes.  We’re not talking smart TVs.  It’s cable boxes connected with coax.  The picture on all 3 is super choppy and pixelated ever since installing the cable modem. Seems like there should be no connection, since the TVs are not reliant on the internet for their programming.  However, I did some testing.  The second I turn off the SB8200, the cable picture clears up.  As soon as I plug the modem back in, the picture on all 3 pixelates again.  There is no question that the cable modem is causing interference on my cable TV picture.is there any way to fix this?  Other than returning my new modem and putting my old modem back in play?

SBG-901 Modem Wi-Fi disconnects periodically

I have observed the Wireless LED blinking on and off several times and all others are off during normal operation.  Modem will automatically reboot successfully after that happens.  This has been happening quite often lately.  Attached is the latest event log.

VMS1100 and IPC1100 STB’s

I have two VMS1100 media servers and four IPC1100 STB’s with my Verizon FIOS account.Each media server had two client STB’s assigned to it automatically.Main implication is that any recording requested via the STB in then automatically recorded on the paired DVR.My question is whether the assignment (pairing) of the clients to server can be revised?
