Upgraded from a Linksys+modem to G36 about 3 months ago. Had 99.999% uptime with my previous setup. WiFi refuses device connectionWiFi not present (can’t see network). Sometimes 2.4G or 5G or bothNot internet (Wifi channels present, lan connected to computer)2.5Gb lan loses connection2.5Gb intermittent connection with switch (this may be a limitation of the G36 not designed to support this or not compatible with green specs) All issues are resolved with hard power reset. All of my equipment is not an issue (cat6 cable, multiple working switches, booming cable signal levels). Temperature controlled open area. I added an external fan and shroud to increase air flow though the G36 and this seems to reduce errors. 3+ hard resets per week is not acceptable. Do I have a faulty product or is this normal for the G36?
I just started to have issues with zoom connectivity being choppy.I restarted by Sb6190 and realized the online and power lights show green upon starting up to boot, however once everything is booted and online the lights are white. Is that normal now? I seem to be connected to internet and my ISP doesn’t see anything wrong.
MY SB8200 will not power up the front lights when plugged in. The Modem was working, and then stopped after a storm. the cable tech said the modem was inoperative and installed a replacement modem. I am looking to get the SB8200 replaced under warranty and the ruckus website says the S/N does not exist, but it exists on the arris website. How do I get a replacement modem under warranty? Thanks!
I just purchased the SB8200 modem for my work computer. Installation & activation through Xfinity seemed to go well. All lights on the modem are doing what they should, & my computer indicates that I’m connected to the internet, but I can’t access anything on the internet…. I called ARRIS tech support, but no help…Any ideas for a simple solution before I return this thing??Thanks!
I recently purchased an SBG7400AC2 Modem for a Public Static IP. It was one of 4 modems approved by my Cable Provider when purchasing a static IP.I was given a gateway IP, Netmask, Device IP, and DNS servers.I was told by the cable company that I do not change the WAN settings and to leave it on DHCP. I thought this was odd because I thought the Static IP was on the WAN side, but anyway, When I try to set up a network using the provided public IP, I get an error message saying it was not a private IP address range, and I needed to use 172., 192., 10., etc… Am I receiving bad information from the Cable company or is there something else I need to do?My goal is to set my Unifi Dream Machine Pro to the Public IP address provided. I have tried pretty much everything I can think of. I even put the static info on the UDM-Pro and set the modem to bridge mode, but no luck. Thanks in advance!
Ive recently switched my modem to the G34 Ive been trying to Mirror my Iphone using Reflector Software which worked on previous Modems ive used but for some reason now switching to this modem The reflector broadcast isnt available. are there some settings i need to change to make this work?
I am not getting the data transfer rate of 300 Mbps that Spectrum says I’m supposed to get and they say it is because the modem. According to your website, the Surfboard SBG6580 cable modem has a maximum data transfer rate of up to 343 Mbps down. Saying up to 343 Mbps means anything above 0 to 343 Mbps! In some data transfer rate test tests in the past, I have gotten around 235-to around 258 Mbps down. Just a little while ago, it was only 153.1 Mbps down. Another issue is the lack of Technical Support for the product by the company! It seems Support is getting worse generally for things. In the past I have been able to call and speak to a person. Can’t it be done now?
A month or so ago my G34 started getting flaky, and now it doesn’t last more than a day or so.After a while, all wifi channels simply disappear from all of my devices (two Macs, an iPhone, an Android tablet, an Amazon Kindle). Those devices call all still see other wifi access points, including xfinity’s semi-public ones.Meanwhile, my desktop Mac is also connected directly via a cat6 cable, and is still working great.Restarting the Gateway restores all access; but only restarting the “Wi-Fi Module” doesn’t help.I can’t see any place to see if my device needs a firmware update or something — is current information hidden somewhere in the 192.168.0.1 management panel?
As of this week (9/18/23) my SVG2482AC is crashing on Xfinity multiple times daily. Comcast support told me that due to the well know (new to me) issues with the “PUMA 6” chipset it is now not supported, in fact, INCOMPATIBLE, with the Xfinity network. But check out this ad:https://www.arrismodem.com/svg2482ac/It clearly states for use with Xfinity! Do I get a refund or at least a credit from Arris for this? They are/were clearly “DUMPING” these guys with a defective chipset. What do you know about this? Thanks.
I’m concerned about occasional short-term disconnections from the Internet (WiFi is off). The System Log is clean but the Event Log shows hundreds of entries like: ti_dhcp6c: 72001004-DHCPv6 Provision - 121 Retries Attempted with Last attempt at Fri Sep 22 23:19:42 2023 09/22/2023 23:21:49 Critical ti_dhcp6c: 72001009-DHCPv6 - No Advertise or Reply Received 11381 times 09/22/2023 23:19:42 Critical ti_dhcp6c: 72001004-DHCPv6 Provision - 120 Retries Attempted with Last attempt at Fri Sep 22 23:17:52 2023 09/22/2023 23:19:42 Critical ti_dhcp6c: 72001009-DHCPv6 - No Advertise or Reply Received 11380 times 09/22/2023 23:17:52 Critical
Just bought a used SB8200 on eBay from a reputable seller. I tried to provision it with my Wow ISP via a phone conversation. The rep said that there is an error “equipment must be in a special status to add it”. She said it was locked. I did a factory reset. Connected it directly to a laptop without internet and logged into the modem. I was able to change the default password to a new one. Tried to provision again by swapping it with my old SB6183 and calling the ISP. Same error. While trying to provision, I can access the modem web page through my router but the username and password doesn’t work. As soon as I take it off the cable and router and connect to my laptop directly, the username and password I created works. When putting my system back to the SB6183, they had to re-provision it to make it work (proving they removed that modem while trying to provision the SB8200).We have verified the MAC address multiple times. Is there anything I can do on my end or tell Wow what
Hello all. On my existing network I have the EX7300 extender. I upgrading my equipment to an Arris G34 cable modem router combo. I am trying to pair my EX7300 extender. At first it connects, but within minutes I get an error with no internet connection that states the extender cannot connect to my network and I end up in an endless loop of being prompted to setup The extender. I am still able to access internet directly through the Arris G34 , it just loses connection to the extender. was wondering if anyone is aware of compatibility issues with these product models? Or, any suggestions on how to get around the problem I am having. Thank you in advance for your time and suggestions.
This morning I got a notice that the password had been changed on my SURFboard Model SB6141.I noticed the message first on my thermostat and then realized that all devices were no longer connected. Does this mean that my router was hacked? How would I be able to reset the password?
My SB8200 modem appears to be no longer allowing me to access my work VPN. The internet works otherwise. I originally thought this was an issue with my work computer; but, on troubleshooting with my work IT, we determined that wasn’t the issue (I was even given a new computer, which did not resolve the problem). I then thought it might be an internet provider issue; but, on contacting my internet provider (RCN), they rebooted my connection among other potential correctives, and determined the issue wasn’t coming from their end. Both my work IT and internet provider suggested this was likely a modem issue. Additional context: I haven’t done anything to my modem (I have not touched it) before the issue arose. I restarted my modem after the issue arose; that did not correct the issue. This issue just started one morning and has been going on for two weeks now. I am able to log into my VPN through other internet sources not linked to my modem (e.g., phone hotspot). Please help!
ARRIS has partnered with Fing to help optimize your home network in the SURFboard Central App. The Fing scan feature is available in the SURFboard Central app (starting version 4.1.14 ) when paired with a cable modem. By tapping the Network menu on the Home screen, Fing performs a one-time network scan of your home network and provides details of the online devices such as the device name, brand, model, IP, and MAC address. For full details of the network and advanced tools, you can sign-up for a download link of the Fing Desktop to install on your PC free of charge.
