range extender for sng10

I have an SBG10 inside my shop. It is a metal building. I am ready to install a Ring wireless floodlight security camera outside near roofline. I cannot get a decent signal outside the building on either 2.4 or 5ghz. I maybe get 1 bar on 2.4 but not consistently. I am thinking of a range extender or repeater. your suggestions, thoughts and a suggested model would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

SVG2482AC ethernet ports stopped working

Devices connected to Ethernet ports are no longer working, but Wi-Fi works fine. I checked the cable connections and they seem to be fine. I tried restarting the modem couple of times, but no success. This happened earlier and it got resolved itself. But this time around the ports are no longer responding.

S33 with Xfinity--No LED when blues should be showing

Xfinity just upgraded me to 800 Mbps (in return for a $10/month fee increase!).  They also informed me, however, that my existing equipment would NOT support such an increase.  In response, I bought and installed an S33, plus a Linksys AC1200, using their 2.5 Gbps LAN ports.  Although the modem seems to be working well, the one fly in the ointment, so to speak, is that, although the LED flashes orange, and then green, when the modem powers up, instead of showing blue, the LED seems to go blank!  In spite of this, however, my internet speed has increased well above the 800 Mbps mark, ranging from 900 to about 912 Mbps, and seems to be working smoothly!  I do know that the area where I live is on the outer fringes of their network in this area.  Could that have something to do with the LED not showing blue?  In any event, how should I proceed?  Thanks in advance for any advice or assistance!

CM8200 slow speeds, firmware upgrade

I am helping my mother-in-law troubleshoot her Touchstone CM8200A modem that is not reaching the correct speeds from the ISP. The technician was able to achieve 1G on the line, but only 92 Mbps at the modem. The cable company is stating that she should purchase a new modem, but in the past I have found improvement with updated firmware, but apparently this is no longer allowed with DOCSIS. Are there any suggestions before this modem gets trashed.

My ARRIS Surfboard SVG2482AC stops working?

My modem/router stops working.  To get it to work again, I unplug it,  open the battery compartment, disconnect and reconnect the battery.  I’ve had this modem/router for a little over four years.  I’m wondering if the problem might be that the battery is wearing out and if so, how would I get a new one?

Cannot use Nord VPN with G36

I’ve been using Nord VPN on 3 devices (with an old Arris modem and Apple Airport Extreme) for over a year with no issues. Then I moved to a new location and Comcast said they don’t support my old Arris modem so bought the G36. The 3 devices using Nord VPN will work for a few minutes then suddenly nothing will load. There are no problems with the 4+ other devices that don’t use the VPN. I turned off the VPN and the devices have worked fine for the past few days. I then discovered that Nord VPN discontinued PPTP support in 2018:https://nordvpn.com/blog/l2tp-pptp-protocol-update/ Arris support had me insure the PPTP checkbox in my gateway settings was checked. Someone called me back and said PPTP is the only VPN protocol. They’ve told me to contact Nord VPN. That’s it. I can’t be the only Nord VPN customer who bought an Arris gateway. Anyone figured out the trick? I regret buying this Arris product.

Light Out

White peanut style Surfboard has no lights of any kind. I recently swapped the UPS uninterrupted power supply it is plugged in to but all other devices on the UPS are working and I have tried multiple inputs on the UPS. Anything short of replacing it I might try? If not, what would be the nearest new model replacement?  And it’s connected to a 10 GB switch - does that go before or after the Surfboard in line (just checking - I have it after)?

Mesh Extender with Wired Connection

I have an Arris AX 6600 Tri-Band W21 mesh router.  It works just fine for most devices (phone, tablet) throughout the house, but the WiFi connection to my NVidia Shield (for TV) appears to suffer from throttling at times.  Usually, SpeedTest results are 400mbps when everything is working correctly however, there are times when it fails to connect or just drops out.I’m looking for an extender with a wired (cable) connection which will allow me to connect the NVidia Shield to the W21 mesh router, thus maximizing the signal strength / speed which take advantage of the W21’s capabilities.Any suggested devices would be welcome.

Blocked VPN Access To Firewalled Addresses

I have changed nothing on my SBG8300 to have caused this problem.  For several years I have used this home modem to connect to my company VPN and then log into my company's factory firewalls to access their network(s).  I have been using the company issued Cisco AnyConnect VPN software.  For the past month, when working from home,  I am not able to access the firewalls and the browser reports that the address cannot be found.  On infrequent occasion I have connected to a firewall but there is no rhyme or reason for why it worked.  Restarting the modem does not help.  My internet provider (Xfinity) tech support remotely examined it and didn’t know what the problem was so she suggested I get a new one (LOL, she gave up).  I can access the firewalls using my cell phone hotspot or another location that provides internet, but not through my modem.  At one point today I tried disabling the modem internal firewall but that did not help.  When I re-enabled the modem firewall and restarted the

Restore T25 to factory settings version 11.01***/update firmware, etc.

Purchased new T25.  Using successfully with Optimum internet.  Trying to log in to modem (to change DNS).  Does not open welcome page to change admin credentials.  Goes directly to status page.  Holding reset button for 20+ seconds did power cycle only???  software version 11.02.142, so not “after 11.02*****” which supposedly restores factory settings with held reset button. How do I restore factory settings and set up credentials?

Does the ARRIS Surfboard G36 able to fight against all kinds of Internet attacks which include malware attacks, phishing attacks, password attacks, man-in-the-middle attacks, sql injection attacks, denial-of-service attacks, insider threats, cryptojacking, zero-day exploits, and watering hole attacks? Can it prevent router hackers from stealing information about the ARRIS Surfboard G36 when they use third party apps to look up this device information so they can break into the WiFi network provided by the ARRIS Surfboard G36 device? W133 Cannot Connect to Internet

Just bought a new S33 and W133 setup to replace my rental Xfiniti XiFi. I've got the S33 setup and finally can get to the Internet with my laptop and S33 connected to a managed Netgear switch. I connected the first W133 using the WAN port and no matter what I do the Surfboard Central app will connect to the W133 via bluetooth but will not get past the the connection to the Internet (again the wired connected laptop does). The error code is 0000-1303.I've run an IP scan on the wired network and only the S33, Netgear (mgt port) and laptop show up. I suspect the W133 is using the 192.168.7.0/24 space where the S33 is using the 192.168.100.0/24 space. Who's genius idea was it to put the startup IPs on different networks? I tried to setup my laptop to the 192.168.7.0/24 network to connect to the W133 via the wired connection but I got a message that says that the WebUI is disabled by default...another genius idea. Dropping connection & warranty claim

I asked a question a couple months ago and did not receive any assistance that helps or answers my question. I have a SBG7600AC2 and want to know how to submit a warranty claim without having to call customer service?  This has consistently dropped connections and restarted many, many times over the last couple of months.  I had my cable company here twice and they don't find anything wrong on their end.  I switched to a different modem/router and haven't had any issues since.  I had to hook up a new modem in order to have wifi.  So I would now have to call my cable company back and reactivate the problem modem so Arris customer service can tell me that it doesn’t work.  It took me quite a while to activate all my devices to be working with the new modem.  I am not sure I want to have to go through that again twice.  Is there no other solution?  Anyone?

s33 with Xfinity - Drop in Download speeds, Event Log incorrect date

Last month, I switched ISPs to Xfinity with an 800Mbps plan, but continue to use the same s33.  I have noticed my download speed will occasionally drops to be around100Mbps, independent of whether I use the 1Gitabit or 2.5Gigabit port.  using my ORBI router statistics, I can see the WAN port drops to 100M/Full down from 1000M/Full.  To get my speed back, I have to reconnect my patch cable (CAT6) from the modem to the router to the opposite port on the modem (1 vs. 2.5Gigabit). Sometimes I have to reboot the modem as well.   Unfortunately, I don’t know exactly when this change happens so I can’t check the event logs at that specific moment. I have seen this with my previous ISP as well, so I don’t think this is specific to the ISP.  So what would cause this?  How can I resolve?While investigating this issue, I did look at the event log to see if I can find anything unusual.  Two things I have found, but may or may not be related.(edit: CM-MAC information removed)My event log listed a nu

Why can't I access sb8200 using wifi

Why can't I access sb8200 web management using wifi. Is it because my wifi network is 192.168. 0.n and the modem address is 192.168. 100.1?If so, anyway to assign the modem an address in my wifi subnet?
