I just upgraded to 1Gig on Optimum with Gateway 6. The Arris G34 will not go above the 400 Mbps that it always has. The website shows the G34 works for 1Gig. It will not! Optimum said the G34 was not compatiable. The modem needs to be a Gateway 6. They send me a new Altice 500g5 Gatgeway 6 and works correctly.

G34 is capable of providing speed up to 1Gbps but the speed compatible with respective service provider will differ. You need to check for your modem compatible speed according to your service provider on the ISP official site by entering your modem details and location. Since the speed will vary according to the location. You can confirm the modem specification using the below link.
