Question: I’m on Xfinity and want to reset my modem. Will I have to activate it again afterwards, or will it work based on the MAC? I’m asking because the default admin password doesn’t work. I tried 2 different browsers and get the same result. 

Resetting it should not cause any issues. I’ve done it just to clear the event log.

What are you trying to correct with the reset? Like @LoveMyLab says, it should be fine but finding out what you think it’ll fix is key. 

Based on what I read, he just needs to go back to the default password and then set it to what he wants.

The reset worked. I changed the password and everything is good. Thanks for the comments.
