DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1 cable modems
MY SB8200 will not power up the front lights when plugged in. The Modem was working, and then stopped after a storm. the cable tech said the modem was inoperative and installed a replacement modem. I am looking to get the SB8200 replaced under warranty and the ruckus website says the S/N does not exist, but it exists on the arris website. How do I get a replacement modem under warranty? Thanks!
I just purchased the SB8200 modem for my work computer. Installation & activation through Xfinity seemed to go well. All lights on the modem are doing what they should, & my computer indicates that I’m connected to the internet, but I can’t access anything on the internet…. I called ARRIS tech support, but no help…Any ideas for a simple solution before I return this thing??Thanks!
Just bought a used SB8200 on eBay from a reputable seller. I tried to provision it with my Wow ISP via a phone conversation. The rep said that there is an error “equipment must be in a special status to add it”. She said it was locked. I did a factory reset. Connected it directly to a laptop without internet and logged into the modem. I was able to change the default password to a new one. Tried to provision again by swapping it with my old SB6183 and calling the ISP. Same error. While trying to provision, I can access the modem web page through my router but the username and password doesn’t work. As soon as I take it off the cable and router and connect to my laptop directly, the username and password I created works. When putting my system back to the SB6183, they had to re-provision it to make it work (proving they removed that modem while trying to provision the SB8200).We have verified the MAC address multiple times. Is there anything I can do on my end or tell Wow what
This morning I got a notice that the password had been changed on my SURFboard Model SB6141.I noticed the message first on my thermostat and then realized that all devices were no longer connected. Does this mean that my router was hacked? How would I be able to reset the password?
My SB8200 modem appears to be no longer allowing me to access my work VPN. The internet works otherwise. I originally thought this was an issue with my work computer; but, on troubleshooting with my work IT, we determined that wasn’t the issue (I was even given a new computer, which did not resolve the problem). I then thought it might be an internet provider issue; but, on contacting my internet provider (RCN), they rebooted my connection among other potential correctives, and determined the issue wasn’t coming from their end. Both my work IT and internet provider suggested this was likely a modem issue. Additional context: I haven’t done anything to my modem (I have not touched it) before the issue arose. I restarted my modem after the issue arose; that did not correct the issue. This issue just started one morning and has been going on for two weeks now. I am able to log into my VPN through other internet sources not linked to my modem (e.g., phone hotspot). Please help!
ARRIS has partnered with Fing to help optimize your home network in the SURFboard Central App. The Fing scan feature is available in the SURFboard Central app (starting version 4.1.14 ) when paired with a cable modem. By tapping the Network menu on the Home screen, Fing performs a one-time network scan of your home network and provides details of the online devices such as the device name, brand, model, IP, and MAC address. For full details of the network and advanced tools, you can sign-up for a download link of the Fing Desktop to install on your PC free of charge.
Just bought this modem the other day. Spectrum shows good signal on their side, I can see from the modem diag page the signals are within spec but for some reason, every few hours, it tries to get a new profile. Hi! I’m trying to adjust some modem settings, but when I sign in to http://192.168.0.1 the dashboard doesn’t show me anything except login settings for my arris account. No modem configuration settings anywhere!Has anyone else run into this issue before? How can I get the dashboard to display modem settings? Thanks!
All product descriptions I’ve seen say this below. Is this device compatible with Windows 11? Compatible operating systems: 4. Windows 10 5. Windows 8 6. Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Note: Although older versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems are no longer specifically supported, they should still function with your SB8200
After I installed the modem last weekend the even log shows that the modem will not update the firmware.I go to the web page on the modem using the 192.168.100.1 address, no issue.speed has been good, speed test shows 300 to 200mb download. There is no update firmware link, or check for latest updates?I noticed the firmware log shows that it is unable to update firmware. The software writers will need to test their code to find out why it shows it is corrupted on the end modem side. Here is the log snippet of 2 occurrences: 4/9/2023 17:32:15 5 REG-RSP-MP Mismatch Between Calculated Value for P1.6hi Compared to CCAP Provided Value;CM-MAC=1c:...;CMTS-MAC=00:01….;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1;14/9/2023 17:32:21 6 SW Download INIT - Via Config file14/9/2023 17:32:21 4 SW upgrade Failed after download -Incompatible SW file14/9/2023 17:32:21 4 SW upgrade Failed after download - SW File corruption15/9/2023 02:51:23 6 SW Download INIT - Via NMS15/9/2023 02:51:24 4 SW
My modem was reset to factory default settings after losing connection. It’s now back up and running, but I can’t change my wifi name/password. Of course, Safari was the only browser that let me access the router, and I was able to log in, but I keep getting this screen when I log in. The only links that work are for the Arris website (which redirects to CommScope). I have a SBG6700AC which otherwise works fine. Is there another way to access the wireless gateway?
Video of when all the lights appear to be working , and then it restarts : https://imgur.com/a/tetTSa6Is it overheating? I haven’t been able to login into the modem to see if it’s working, via direct Ethernet 192.168.100.1 it’s been 24 hours since I gave the MAC address to my ISP, I’ve tried all the basic troubleshooting steps to no avail.
In most cases, the modem’s Status page can be accessed by browsing to the modem’s address 192.168.100.1 from a client connected to the Wi-Fi router or connected to the cable modem. If you’re unable to get to the modem’s login screen, the workaround is to manually assign IP addresses in the device (Wi-Fi router or PC) that is directly connected to the modem. NOTE: The workaround requires knowledge of assigning IP addresses to the PC or Wi-Fi router. Refer to the user manual for instructions. Wi-Fi Client OnlyIf you only have a Wi-Fi client, the only workaround is to change the Wi-Fi router’s WAN IP address. Log in to your Wi-Fi router’s settings page and navigate to the WAN or Internet settings. Set the WAN IP address to Static and enter the following network addresses. IP Address: 192.168.100.200 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway or Router: 192.168.100.1 DNS addresses are not needed to access the modem’s status page Save the WAN settings. Browse to 192.168.100.1 with th
