Switching internet account from previous owner of property to mine with the same modem but internet provider (comcast) cannot activate my new account remotely, although the internet data shows normal on from their end.

What error are you getting?

Did you call and talk to them?

Was service setup?
Are you able to log into it and check its connections?

No error msg. My iPhone shows no internet connection  under wifi login.

yes I was with comcast online agent. I was told they see data coming in from their end. Everything is normal. We tried reboot a few times. Didn’t work.

service is set up and paid. I can login and see my modem is online. I assume the issue is that comcast does not allow switching one account to another using the same modem /3rd party modem?

Someone suggests that I replace the modem  with one of the same maker but an upgraded model.

The SB6190 is a modem only device. It has no wifi. What router do you have?

Since SB6190 is the cable modem, it will work only through hardwired connection. I suggest you to connect the modem to the computer through ethernet cable to access the internet.

If you having internet connection through hardwired, then connect the modem to the router and check the internet through Wi-Fi access.
