I have a TG2762G that provides cable, telephone and only marginal WiFi. I bought a mesh router/WiFi to improve things. It wants me to turn off the TG2762G’s router/WiFi functions. I don’t how to do this.Can someone help do this?

Current setup: Netgear CM3000-->Netgear RBE973S-->2.5gig tp-link switch, Xfinity 2.4gig/350mbps

You are right. We double checked our cable modem, the correct number is TG2472.
