Wi-Fi Modems

I gave the first 25 of my 60 devices static addresses but now no matter what name, IP and MAC I try to add I get Invalid input.

I dont have a coaxil connection,internet has a ethernet end on it.so is this a router also or just a modem

I have been trying to work on my Gateway but have had nothing but problems as I cannot open multiple tabs in my browser to go between things and the website keeps logging me out! I’ll be in the middle of something and it will tell me I need to login again! Is there some setting I need to adjust for this because it is aggravating beyond words that it is taking longer than necessary to get this done 😡

Modem too slow

My ISP is Xfinity and I am using an SBG10. This has been driving me up a wall for months. My Windows11 laptop cannot reach Apple’s servers to authenticate to iCloud unless I turn off the SBG10 Firewall. This is independent of whether I use Chrome, Edge, DuckDuckGo, or Apple’s iCloud app. (Disabling Windows Defender and firewall also had no effect.)I CAN however connect the laptop to my phone’s hotspot (also Xfinity) and get to iCloud. I can also use my old Windows 10 computer from my SBG10 Wi-Fi to get to iCloud. (Not a good workaround anymore since that machine is on it’s last legs and needs to be retired.) Is there some secret incantation I need to learn if I want to keep the SBG10 firewall on?

Using Microsoft Edge for the G34 GUI, the response became very slow, sometimes several minutes for GUI clicks such as Statis Addresses.  At one point a try to set a static address, or something else I must have done, left two static address list entries IP 0.0.0.0 MAC 00.00.00.00.00.00. Call that a 0s entry.  I switched to my preferred Firefox and the speed became normal again, but trying to [x] delete them made it worse.  I now have 8, 0s entries that can’t be deleted, all in one contiguous group.  As far as I can tell, any static address I create following those are never realized.  Since I had 72 S.A.’s before this mess I sure hope I don’t have to factory reset the G34 and start over -- more than an hour of typing and waiting for the G34 to respond.  I had an indication from Arris phone support this is a G34 bug but I stupidly phoned with my battery running out so my phone powered down and he couldn’t even call me back.  Is it officially a bug?  Is anything known about when, why or

I wish to use it as a WiFi access point or repeater in my home network.  I have accessed the web interface, but in the “Wireless Interface” section, the option shows *none*, preventing me from enabling the normal WiFi radios.I kindly request that you provide the compatible generic (retail) firmware for the VAP4641 model that allows reactivating the WiFi functions (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and configuring SSID/password, ideally version 08.02.xxx or equivalent “GA‑Generic.”Device information:- Model: VAP4641  - Current software version: 08.03.017.07

Optimum is my  provider and have been doing the zoom meeting for years,  The problem started with a new G34 wifi modem.   While in Zoom meeting either the guests or me , the host, freeze, the internet connectioin is unstable message appears and zoom reboots and I have to unmute.  Never had this problem until I got a new G34.  Gene had a similar problem with a G33 and ultimately found it was the modem.  Is it the new G34???  If so Im very disappointed.  My previous Modem was an Arris SBG7600AC2 where all the ethernet connections quit working.  I followedd all troubleshooting recommendations of power cycle, disconnect cable and hard rest.  Being out of warranty I bought a new G34 and now a Zoom  problem.  Please help

New G20 arrives this past Wednesday. Hook it up through Xfinity assistant.Thursday, all is well.Friday Intermittent connections issues. On the phone with Xfinity for hours, they’re sending a guy out on Monday.I’ve read the other forum posts, this is a common occurrence. Only, it’s Sunday right now and my G20 has been solid blue for the past couple hours. I just had to factory reset the gateway. On Wednesday I set up the G20 through the web app, then logged into the G20’s GUI interface separately using the Brave browser. Deciding I didn’t want an app to override my access to a G20 I had direct access to, I requested to have my app account deleted.  Incoming conjecture: deleting the app account interfered with local account management creating frequent modem reboots. For me the tell-tale sign the issue was with the G20 and not Xfinity was that when I logged into the GUI web access on Friday, “Wi-FI” was red-x’d out at the top, as were the 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios (under “Primary Home”). Been using my Surfboard SBG8300 modem and router for 4-5 years with no issue. Over night, the modem-router stopped allowing a connection to the internet. Both lights on the surfboard are solid green. I have no problem accessing the admin panel. When I go into the admin panel, it notes that WAN internet is inactive.  Tried restarting, power cycling and a full factory reset.  ISP is Optimum and we have a 500mb plan. ISP said it is likely an issue with the modem-router and it will likely need to be replaced, but is sending out a tech tomorrow. Any other troubleshooting I can do/any thoughts on what might be the issue? 

Hi!  I have a new Arris G20 Surfboard Wi-Fi Cable Modem, I have been able to add all of my phones and laptops to the Wi-Fi, but not my HP Envy 4500 printer.  I get the message your HP printer is unable to connect to your wireless router, and that I must add the MAC address of my printer to the list of permitted devices for my wireless router.  How do I do that?  Melanie

Same issue as a user posted a month ago regarding his 7400AC2. Wireless clients that are connected to 5G show in 2.4G client list. No 5G clients listed in 5G client list.

I cannot log into the admin interface, even after performing a reset. Several months ago, I lost connection to my wifi suddenly.  It wasn’t an issue with my provider.  I realized that my wifi name was showing up as the factory name, not the name I’d given it.  I discovered I could use the factory default password and I was able to connect all my devices using that, but since then I haven’t been able to log into the admin interface.  I’d like to change my network name and password.  I tried doing a reset to see if that would allow me to use the default login credential and it still won’t work. What can I do to get into the admin interface to change the password and network name?

I’ve already factory reset the 🤬 thing twice. Bought it brand new on Friday. I’ve been trying to set it up and the “Surfboard App” on my phone is ridiculous. I’ve got it somewhat up and running - it’s what I’m using to post this query. But…The “app” on my Android phone keeps disconnecting from the network. Despite the fact it says it’s connected to the network. Switching between screens on the app takes a literal minute - 60 seconds. The “parental controls” aren’t controlling a thing. Currently this desktop is supposed to be “paused” from accessing the internet.I did rename the Wi-Fi gateways and the passwords, but everything says its connected to the new networks. Seriously, how is this computer connected? WHY is this computer connected when it’s supposed to be paused? I’m about to return it and look for a different brand, unless someone can help. Thanks in advance.

How to convert 5GHZ to 2.4 GHZ?? I am trying to connect my security camera that supports 2.4 GHZ.

Is there a software or firmware update?  my Xfinita speed is high but download speeds are low, where in the Arris site do i fine or manage my divice?

All of a sudden I am unable to access the website (because it times out) for my email.  I had no problem since I had the SBG8300 which I bought July 2023 until a couple days ago.  The website for my email provider PA.NET is webmail.pa.net.  After I installed a VPN (Nord VPN) I can access the website.  Comcast is my internet provider.  I checked with them and they saw no problems.  I checked with PA.NET and they could not find any problem.  I can get my email using comcast as a internet provider with no problem. I can get the email using Verizon on my cell phone when using only Verizon as the provider.  When I use comcast through the SBG8300 on my cell phone the email times out.  I use wireless WIFI.  I tried hooking the computer directly to the SBG8300 and still had the same problem.  I have tried 3 different computer and they all had the same problem.The only thing common with this problem is the SBG8300.I would appreciate if you could help me find a solution to this problem.I can be

I am STILL trying to get an answer to this and DO NOT send me to the chat as it “Currently Unavailable”  I tried both my Macbook and my iPhoneHow do I register my Arris G34?!?!?!? I want a helpful answer. I paid for this I should be able to register it for the warranty or I will file a complaint with the appropriate govt agencies. 

The Surfboard Central app has recommendation for network health.  It indicatess some devices are connected with a low signal strength.  Some listed devices are hardwired via ethernet cable.  How can they havee a low signal strehgth??
