There is a link on the website to check warranty status. BUT, it’s broken and doesn’t work. How can I check the status of my warranty? I have an S33 that I’d like to find if it is in warranty. Thank you in advance.

This is very strange. My ISP is Spectrum. It took them an HOUR to provision this modem to connect it to the internet. It works. It’s worked for a week. But we cannot even VIEW the login page. It times out. Nothing has worked. 20 second factory resets, blah blah blah blah. I’m an IT professional. I believe this modem is a dud. The app is completely useless. It doesn’t even let me log into the app, so don’t even try to tell me to go there. To clarify, I try to log into the IP that the instructions say to go to, and it times out. This is with ethernet directly into the modem, no router, etc. Firefox, Edge, and Chrome all time out. It says the modem is busy and may not have access to the internet. But it does. The internet works fine.

How do I reset the password? I’ve pushed the pin on the bottom to factory reset but the default user name and password doesn’t work.  Also. Is the SURFboard app supposed to be so barebones? I feel like I’m missing something. 

I cannot connect my smartthings plug to my new arris g34?surfboard router/modem.  smartthings rep says I need to change it from wpa3 to wpa2.

As the subject says, the Ethernet ports on this device aren’t working. The WiFi network still works; I’ve done a factory reset and I’ve disabled and re-enabled the ports on it as well. No device I plug into any of the ports works, and the client list doesn’t recognize anything being plugged into it either. I’ve been fighting with it for the last couple of days, and I really just want this thing replaced.

I returned a new ARRIS S34 modem on 1/30/2026 but have still yet to receive a refund. How do I talk to someone about this issue? Fedex RMA return was used and delivery is confirmed to ARRIS.

My G18 keeps disconneting (no access to internet) although on the app everything appears fine. Even looking at the devices connected, there is a wifi symbol but no internet connection. We are constantly restarting our G18 maybe 3-5 times a day due to this issue.Internet provider says nothign is wrong with the actual internet or signal, likely the modem itself.

I am unable to change the fourth octet of my SBG8300 modem/router.   Also, how do I disable DHCP on it? 

My modem disconnects from the internet several times during the day. Our provider is Spectrum. They have stopped by several times and even replaced the cable from the pole to my box. My downstream and upstream QAM values are shown in the photo. I connected to the box using 192.168.0.1 when the internet was out and under Troubleshooting | Diagnostic Tools under Test Connectivity the status showed “Inactive”. I am not sure what that means. Once I reboot the router, I have connectivity for several hours and then it goes down again. On average, it goes down at least 3 times daily. Also, I tried to check the logs. And there are none…   

I can’t change my modem password by going to website 192.168.0.1 as shown in the manual because the page says page not secure, unsafe, go back.  I can’t change my password on the iphone app because there is no option for account management.  I called the number in the manual for Arris SBC8300 and the rep I was talking to directed me to the page which was red flagged as NOT SECURE.  We got disconnected and when she called me back my iphone Malwarebytes labelled her number as KNOWN SCAMMER.  This is the worst customer service I ever experienced. I have not been able to get any help with changing my modem password.  

We purchased an ARRIS S33 modem new less than a year ago, and it appears to be failing.The front LED is solid green (online), but the 1GE Ethernet port shows both green and amber link/activity lights even when no Ethernet cable is plugged in. The factory reset button also does not trigger a reboot, even when held for 20–30 seconds.Internet connectivity has become unstable, and based on troubleshooting, this appears to be a hardware issue with the Ethernet controller.Additionally, when attempting to file a warranty claim, the ARRIS/CommScope website is not accepting our S33 model information or serial number, even though we are entering it exactly as printed on the device.Has anyone successfully: Processed an S33 warranty replacement recently? Worked around the warranty page rejecting valid model/serial information? Found a reliable way to reach support? We replaced our old router/modem with a Surfboard G36.  My Ambient weather council worked well with our old modem (2.4 and 5 GHZ) but will not connect via wifi to the G36 Surfboard. I have worked with ambient weather to try to get it to connect without success.  I replaced the council and this does not correct the issue.  The council only works on 2.4 GHz so I tried disconnecting 5 GHz on web manager before attempting to connect without success.  Is there any action I can take to make this council connect to the modem.  

i need to extend wifi coverage at home.  budget is limited.  i have an arris surfboard sbg3800 that is my cable modem/wifi router.  hoping i can buy one of the wifi6 mesh units.  i am unable to run any cat6 to other parts of the home so hoping i can extend via just using the mesh units

I was out of the country when my internet connection failed. Wife wanted to see the cats on out internal cameras. About 7-8 days ago, the modem failed to connect to the ISP.Today, an ISP technician came out, verified the signal from the cable was strong. However, after power on/off and reset, the modem refused to get any signal from the ISP. It maintains a solid yellow light, but no signal.I replaced the Surfboard S33 with my older Asus CM-16 that connected after it was reassigned as my cable modem by my ISP.I purchased this modem August 2023. It’s been running fine until now. Is there something else i can do to recover operation or get a replacement? 

How to alter my password on Surfboard Central for Android?

I have the SB6183 and have had it for at least 10 years. I swear I bought it from my ISP (Suddenlink, now Optimum-they suck) instead of renting. I never rent service equipment because it’s soooooo much cheaper to purchase and own. Otherwise, it has to be returned when you cancel service, even if it’s obsolete after a certain time period. Plus, at the time I chose to buy it rather than rent monthly, circa 2015, it was the best available. But I have no record to prove I own it and I’m getting harassed by Optimum that even though I properly canceled my service, following their online protocol to a T, that I owe them money, 10 months after I switched ISPs. They have sent me to a debt collection service at this point. I need to find out if the serial number is registered to an ISP as their equipment they rented (in which case I lose) or if I actually own it. I would have had paper records 15 years ago, but no longer. For me, it’s not about the money, it’s about the principle of the thing, a

G34 Modem is intermittent, random bouts of high SNR and connection drops. Modem UI stays blue, web interface says everything is okay, no signs of issues as far as the modem is concerned, but connection to ISP is gone.Power cycle via pulling the 12v connector usually clears it.  Attempts to reset the router/modem via web interface usually hangs … interface becomes unresponsive.Logs indicate a link failure - modem can’t get a proper response from the ISP.  But it’s probably the modem RF failing.   Adding a fan to the base of the G34 “resolved” the problem for a while. Room ambient is 72f, air conditioned. Never higher. G34 placed where it gets good air circulation and where my Netgear modem sat for 10 years until it died of old age.    

I need help and I can’t find a phone number to contact anyone.  I’m trying to sign into my router.  I’m reading everywhere online that I should be able to type my router’s default gateway number into the search bar and hit enter but it keeps saying webpage not available.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.  I have the Arris/Surfboard Router SB8200Default Gateway number is 192.168.4.1

I connected my ARRIS G20 and had the factory SSID and Factory PAssword - - When I went to change the password and the SSID - it locked me out and I am not able to start over to reset the modem router.

i just got a new phone and cannot utilize the Surfboard mobile app. I transferred the app from my old phone to my new phone. Now, I cannot get signed back into the app on my new phone. I do not want to reset my modem(G34).

Can’t get Arris to connect to TV

I have had an s33 for several years. Optimum will not update the firmware. I am getting us profile assignment changes every minute or more. Optimum has been out here twice in the past week and says it's not their problem. I wanted to upgrade to the s34 to rule out problems with my modem, but there has been no availability for a couple of months on every online or in person retailer. Is the s34 being discontinued? Will a new model be coming soon?

Comcast went out, blinked on and off a few times and then my modem died. 2 years 3 months, just out of warranty. My guess is a spike came down the cable line.I have another one on order due today. Is it possible to get the old one repaired so I can keep it as a spare, since I have been down and running my phone hotspot for 5 days now? 

Hi there,I’m hoping a moderator can help me out with a warranty claim. My S33 recently hit the "pale green light" death spiral and stopped booting. I was able to confirm it’s definitely the power brick because I took it to a friend’s house who has the exact same modem—mine booted up perfectly with his power supply.My serial number shows as in-warranty until 4/8/26, but I’ve hit a wall: I work during the phone support hours, and the chat feature on the site hasn't been loading for me at all. On top of that, I paid cash for this at Walmart and didn't save the paper receipt, though I still have the original box with all the matching labels.I have photos of the modem and the original packaging labels ready to go and can provide them via private message upon request.Since this seems to be a known issue with these adapters, is there any way you can help me get a replacement brick sent out? I’d really like to avoid buying a whole new unit when the modem itself is still working great.Thanks fo
