Hi there. I set up custom network names, but then had to reset the modem - causing the network names to revert back to the original names. However, the app still shows the custom network names - but everything else shows the originals. How can I get the app to revert back?

Since installing the  Arris Model NVG4438 router MagicJack cannot receive or make calls.  Any ideas on how to make it work?  Thanks.  Tim

I am trying to connect a device (smart bulb) and says must be 2.4 compatabile. 

Arris model G36 purchased last month. Had tough time setting up via Xfinity and had to speak with Arris support who reset it and then back to exfinity to register it again.  Now need to put in Bridge mode but when go to 192.168.0.1, I use the email address I registered under but no idea what password to use.  No matter what I use, cannot get past error for incorrect email.

What happened: I was troubleshooting a Xbox Live issue my son had with his Xbox. One of the troubleshooting steps was to put the G36 in bridge mode. Apparently bridge mode wasn’t the solution and I wound up having to do a factory reset.Problem: Now trying to use the SURFboard Central App, I can connect to the 2.4GHz and 5GHz on my phone with the default SSID/password but cannot connect to other devices.  Troubleshooting attempts: I tried using the (192.168.100.1) to see if I can change it there but it doesn’t load for me. I WOULD log off and log back on but I don’t remember the password to the app and I couldn’t find the forgot my password option.End State: I’d like to be able to change the SSID/password and use the app prior to factory reset.

I recently purchased a G36 Surfboard Wi-Fi Cable Modem to use with my Xfinity internet service.  Since I installed the modem, I have experienced multiple daily internet downtime.  Xfinity can not find any issues on their end.  Could something be wrong with the new modem?Sharon Cooperkrazee4kats@gmail.com772-216-4070

My ARRIS (G34) - Cable Modem Router Combo - Fast DOCSIS 3.1 Gigabit WiFi 6 (AX3000) reset itself back to it’s factor settings. I can’t login to change this. I tried to get the password reset to email what to do, but nothing is showing up. Ideas?

Hi everyone, I’m currently working with an Arris SB8200 cable modem and need some technical guidance. I'm trying to automate a WAN reset routine for my home network, but I’m hitting a wall with the device’s firmware behavior. Has anyone here worked with these modems to enable remote reboot capabilities or bypass the authentication requirements? Any advice on scripting this or alternative hardware solutions would be greatly appreciated.

I solved this issue after continued research on the internet but after hours and hours of resetting and restoring the brand new modem as advised by the surfboard chat techs. I am not good at computers at all but do know enough to follow instructions if the correct ones are given. I kept saying to the techs I felt it was just something on the modem not clicked on (or off!) but that dialogue was ignored. Too long of a story so to cut to the chase for someone else who might have this issue with their new Arris modem:Setup new modem and connected with my internet provider and everything worked and streamed just fine except calling over WiFi. Our house has a lot of trees in a rural area so we do not have cell phone service without WiFi. I knew it was the modem that was not allowing the calling over WiFi as I went to a neighbor’s home, was on their WiFi, and could make a call no problem. How to change my WiFi password.

Hello,I have an Arris G54 Gateway that runs about 30 wired and WiFi devices through a managed switch. Everything is working well, but I am trying to add a new WiFi touchscreen that is supposed to connect to the existing connected internet interface device with a LAN IP for a security alarm system. The touchscreen firmware works via 2 connections: A basic WiFi connection to a SSID on the router and then a further connection to the interface device by inputting that device's IP into the touchscreen's settings.When I tried to connect the touchscreen to the G54, it would not connect to the Primary SSID but did connect to the Guest SSID. Once so connected, the touchscreen would not further connect to the internet interface device after putting in that device's IP address.The touchscreen support tech said the basic problem is that the touchscreen is an IoT device that cannot accept passwords with the special characters used for the Primary SSID, and is geneally incompatible with the G54's ad

 Hello & Happy New Year,Xfinity is my in-home provider. I recently increased my internet plan to 1 Gig Plan, download speeds up to 1000 Mbps and Upload speeds up to 35MbpsThis increased seep requires me to replace a very old Arris. Numerous friends have recommended the G54 plus it’s compatible with Xfinity. Great!BUT. Arris said the G54 is designed for internet only and doesn’t support Xfinity Voice service. This model won’t work because it can’t carry voice signals and Xfinity doesn’t enable voice on it.Would someone knowledgeable please recommend a router/modem that equates to a Model G54 + Voice? Thank you.

SB8200 failing but website says serial number not foundMy SB8200 purchased in November 2021 keep dropping the connection since Xfinity upgraded things in the neighborhood. The connection keeps dropping. Xfinity says there is no outage. I've already upgraded the coax and splitters, etc. Still keeps dropping. It was running PERFECTLY FINE without a problem until they updated the neighborhood (Up to 10G). I cannot contact customer support due to the website saying my serial number cannot be found. I have tried entering it multiple times in different formats with no luck. To fix it, I just disconnect and reconnect the coax, and power cord, Then I am running fine for a day or so. Thank you! 

Every few days, the Modem stops the Internet connection, and the only way to reset is to unplug and restart.  This is not due to power failures or any other issue.  It is happening 1-3 times a week and is a real problem  , I am with Xfinity

Howdy,      I use FileZilla for work and I work remotely. My company and internet provider cannot help me. Any ideas what could be blocking access? I’m using the Surfboard SBG8300.     All FileZilla says is Connecting to < SERVER NAME >, then < Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity > followed by < Could not connect to server >     However, if I change my wifi to my iPhone Personal Hotspot, it connects very fast so I know my credentials are correct.      I hope you can help, I’ve been struggling with this (off and on) for over a year.Later

I am trying to connect to my 5g network. Keeps saying my username is incorrect on 10.0.0.1 login page. I checked the log in information, so not sure where to go from here. My regular non 5g network is showing on the right hand side, I just want to add the 5g. Thanks 

I own a DOCSIS 3.1 gateway G34 with 1.04 firmware known for intermittent connectivity issues that are fixed by 1.05 firmware.  This device is on the Approved Device List from Breezeline.  1.05 has been out for 3 years and is stable.  However despite the DOCSIS mandate Breezeline customer service refuses to manually update the firmware saying any new firmware will be automatically pushed and my only solution is to ditch my gateway and rent ISP’s gateway and pay monthly rental fees.The connectivity drops predictably every few days, probably by algorithm to encourage me to rent their equipment.Do you see this behavior at Breezeline or other ISP?  Is there a tool to exam and document the connectivity issues are man-made by Breezeline?Is this a legitimate case to file a complaint with FCC or class action?

Trying to access my S34 modem on my LAN using Chrome, and the site displays the “Not secure” message. I downloaded the certificate, and imported it into my Chrome certificate manager, yet I am still getting this error while accessing the S34. Is that certificate valid?

Connected new G20 modem/router and everything connects (TV for streaming, phone for internet use) but mobile calling over WiFi is not working. We have no phone service inside our house without WiFi calling. Mobile calling over WiFi works at neighbor’s house just fine. 

Hello,I reset my modem/router (instead of unplugging it) because my ring doorbell was offline and refused to reconnect. It reset to the original name and password. I need the site and steps to create my original wifi name and password, please.
