Surfboard SBG7400AC2 Disable Wi-Fi Networks

All of my devices are hard wired. Can the WiFi be disabled, or does the router not broadcast if there are no devices connected wireless?

Slow speed internet when try connecting the modem from 1st floor and modem is on second floor - SBG7400AC2

When I run a speed check on my Apple iPhone, I get 279 Mbps on the first floor. The SBG7400AC2 is on second floor. When in the room with the modem, I get as high as 650 Mbps. Can I turn off the Wi-Fi on the modem, maintain the cable input and use another device for Wi-Fi with a device on second floor and another on first floor. I have an option of the first floor being hard wired if needed. This is where I use laptop and stream on main TV. Thanks.

Having issues with Spotify and Android TV box. Never happened to my Netgear cable modem previously. Already turned off firewall - must be something with the settings? Please shed me some light for this - or else I have to buy another cable modem only device...

Ethernet (wired connection) on SBG7600AC2 not working.

I just noticed that my Ethernet connection does not work from my modem. The wifi that I use daily is working just fine, but I recently noticed that my only wired connection is no longer working. My only Ethernet connection is my security camera system, and I have not checked to see if it was online in months, so who knows how long this issue has been going on for. I have tried to connect the Ethernet cable to different devices and use different Ethernet cables and reset the modem to no success. I am wondering if there is an easy way to tell if the Ethernet ports are broken or if there is some way to reset them. Both the green and orange lights are always on for all 4 ports even when nothing is connected. Is this normal? Or does this in itself indicate a problem? There was a power surge in my neighborhood a year ago. Could this have damaged the Ethernet ports but not the wireless Cabo ability of my modem? Any information would be appreciated. My modem is no longer under warranty.

Testing internet port access

I have updated the Arris cable modem/router with the information that was provided to add a virutal server/port forward. How can I test that the changes were implemented correctly? SBG7600AC2: Port Forwarding Setup However, the Arlo hub is still not being recognized by the mobile app or the My Arlo portal. What troubleshooting can you provide? Thanks

Latest Firmware for the SBG7600AC2

I saw two questions on this topic and the response was that the latest firmware is pushed out to the internet service provider. But my situation is I chose not to use any router from the service provider and purchased this on my own. So I would have thought I should be able to update the firmware on my own as well (as and when there is a firmware update).

Xfinity blocking port 80

I have the Arris SBG7600AC2 as the cable modem and wireless router for Xfinity service. When I try to add the Arlo Netgear camera hub, it cannot get to it because port 80 is blocked. I set up port forwarding on the Arris but the port does not seem accessible. How can I troubleshoot this issue?

Impossible to enable the DCS protocol in the 2.4 GHz band. My modem/router is the SBG7600AC2

I have been checking the tools of the 2.4GHz band to make it better and I found the dynamic channel selection that will be so helpful to me. However, to enable this one remains in gray; I have my router in auto for channels but in the advance part of this one is not letting me turn on the DCS. Also, I am steering the band with the 5 Ghz. I will appreciate your help :)

surfboard central app

I cannot for the life of me log in to the surfboard app. I want to change the name of my wifi back to what it was. but it won't let me access it. I've gone through the setup. Several times and don't feel I need to keep factory resetting it. I think it's a problem woth the app. Help!

Wi-Fi Calling not working with SBG7400AC2

I cannot get Wi-Fi calling to work with the SBG7400AC2. I have Vyve cable internet and Verizon cell service. This modem is new, and I had the same problem on the previous Surfboard that we were renting from the ISP. Also, I had this problem on my older phone (Galaxy S8+) and thought it was because the phone was so old, but same thing is happening on the new phone (Galaxy S23 Ultra). I initially set the modem up using the Surfboard Central app and just accepted defaults. I did just login to the web interface to see if anything was blocked on the firewall. A Google search suggested enabling IPSec, PPTP, L2TP, and VPN Service for a Netgear router. Under Firewall settings, IPSec, PPTP, and L2TP pass-through are enabled. I can't find anything related to a VPN, and I can't imagine that would be the issue. This would be merely a nuisance, except often I'll miss calls and cannot send or receive texts when the phone has decided to try and use Wi-Fi calling. The workaround once I've realized it

CANNOT LOG INTO SURFBOARD ON PHONE

I have been trying for hours now to activate the service for this modem. I followed all steps, download the app, set up the SSID, and it says that I successfully connected to the wireless gateway. When I go to the next page to login to the wireless gateway, an error message comes up saying “cannot connect to the wireless gateway.” When I try to click on the links for “Supported ARRIS devices” it just brings me to a blank page on this website. PLEASE HELP!!!

SBG7400AC2 - Slow speed on Amazon tv

I am using iptv and tivimate to stream TV. they stoped working and will not let me reload them. I get good internet speed but can not login to these providers. Contacted them and everything is working fine on there end. Before that my speed was slower then amazon tv speed. Reset the modem and fire stick and still nothing.

How do I get a shell on my SBG7600AC2?

Hello. I am trying to get a shell on my SBG7600AC2, Bootcode Version 2.2.0.46, Hardware Version 2, Firmware Version 9.1.103AA78. I’m starting to love my previous modem (Actiontec Q1000) more, as it had a way to enable telnet and allowed me to use neat tools such as xdslctl to diagnose connectivity issues. Anyways, I have gone through all the web interface configuration pages and can find no such thing on my SBG7600AC2. I have searched the internet for results, apparently someone found there is a technician account with a password of the day. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to get any combination to work. I contacted my ISP but they said they don’t set anything and didn’t know what I was talking about. Does anyone have any ideas?

Password Reset on SBG7400AC2

Is there a way to reset the password on my Surfboard SBG7400AC2 without having to reset it to factory settings? I did a reset years ago and ended up clearing information from the system that required us to have the company that set it up come back out and reset our systems. So, I’m trying to avoid that since they’re no longer in business.

I need to factory reset my modem router, I remember when I moved to this house that it was quite an adventure to make this modem work with xfinity, and I would not like to have problems between the modem and the company again, so my question is... After the reset, will I have to call again and share the modem data or should it work when I connect the cox cable again?

SBG6950AC2 Xfinity drop signal

I’m dealing with constant internet drops on Xfinity and could use some advice. I have an Arris SBG6950AC2 modem/router, and Xfinity confirmed their signal is strong coming in, but they think the modem isn’t distributing it properly. They also mentioned this model might struggle with delivering not only the full 1Gbps speed, but not even close to 600 tops. Lately, the connection drops have been happening a lot more. Has anyone else had similar issues with this modem on Xfinity, or needed to upgrade to keep up with faster speeds? Does my modem needs firmware update? Modem is out of warranty - Do I need new one or this can be fixed ? Would love to hear your experiences or any tips on solving this!
