Cannot get faster that 50Mbps speeds from my SBG7600ac2 Wifi. Wired ports are at 600Mbps. Does anyone have any suggestions/Ideas.

xfinity activation restore

I need to factory reset my modem router, I remember when I moved to this house that it was quite an adventure to make this modem work with xfinity, and I would not like to have problems between the modem and the company again, so my question is... After the reset, will I have to call again and share the modem data or should it work when I connect the cox cable again?

SBG6950AC2 Xfinity drop signal

I’m dealing with constant internet drops on Xfinity and could use some advice. I have an Arris SBG6950AC2 modem/router, and Xfinity confirmed their signal is strong coming in, but they think the modem isn’t distributing it properly. They also mentioned this model might struggle with delivering not only the full 1Gbps speed, but not even close to 600 tops. Lately, the connection drops have been happening a lot more. Has anyone else had similar issues with this modem on Xfinity, or needed to upgrade to keep up with faster speeds? Does my modem needs firmware update? Modem is out of warranty - Do I need new one or this can be fixed ? Would love to hear your experiences or any tips on solving this!

my SBG7400AC2 isn't broadcasting the network

So I've been with my cox representative for like 2 and half hours and we've been trying to get the modem/router up and running. The issue is that it isn't broadcasting a ssid, I bought it used and think it might have caused an issue there.

Locked out of modem, cant connect with customer support - sbg7600AC2

I’m locked out of my SBG7600AC2 due to too many incorrect login attempts. I never set a password, so I expected "password" to work, but it doesn't. I also tried a password from the Surfboard app, but that didn’t work either.I’ve already tried a factory reset, unplugged it for 10 minutes, and performed a 30-30-30 reset, but nothing seems to help. I think I might need to contact customer support to unlock it. Any tips before I do that?

SBG7600AC2 OpenDNS setup

I tried configuring OpenDNS with my SBG7600AC2 gateway using the instructions provided. Under LAN settings, I checked the box to manually set the DNS addresses and them provided the primary and secondary DNS addresses for OpenDNS. The device restarted, I gave it plenty of time to take effect, etc. However, the test websites that OpenDNS is supposed to be filtering are not being filtered. My OpenDNS settings were working fine with the gateway that I owned previously (different brand/model).

***UPDATE*** I got to reset. Hey gang, I have a 7400AC2 that I use with Spectrum Cable. I am trying to get into the admin options to make some changes, I don’t recall changing user or password but it is saying one or both are incorrect.Is there a way to override and get in OR reset back to default admin/password?

SBG7600AC2 randomly disconnects 2.4 GHz WiFi only

I have a SBG7600AC2 modem that I bought a couple of months ago. I am having an issue where the 2.4 GHz WiFi ONLY will stop providing internet to those devices that are connected to it, such as Alexa, the Blink cam, and the Ring cams.The wired internet works just fine during this time, and the 5 GHz WiFi also works just fine during this time.In order to reset it, I have to go to 192.168.0.1, turn off the 2.4 GHz in the Surfboard menu, turn it back on, and everything connects again within a few seconds.A day or two later, it will do it again. I’ve played with many of the settings in the menu without any change. I don’t believe it is interference because the devices will stop being connected and won’t reconnect without my doing the reset. Even after hours, it will not reconnect on it’s own. All devices go off-line at the same time. Any suggestions?

SBG7600AC2 can't connect due to password

I can't connect to Internet because of WiFi password, it always says "check password and try again". But password is right for sure, I wasn't change it, it is default. And I checked many times, I know it's right. I don't know why I can't connect. This is what I see in the mobile app (screenshots), I use Surfboard central app (my phone not support another app named "arris Surfboard manager") . please help

Nest WiFi Pro can't connect to my SBG7400AC2 - Stuck at "connect Ethernet Cable"

After a storm last week, my internet became spotty and unreliable after all devices working perfectly and in-sync prior to this. I factory reset everything I do not know how many times.. I called Google support several times, as well as my ISP Xfinity - to no avail. After the reset - the extenders can’t connect to my arris. I have 3 Google Nest WiFi Pro - I use one as the router and it is connected to my Arris SBG7400AC2 via Ethernet cable. Now, I have internet through Arris but signal is weak throughout the house. When I try to add a device through the google home app, it displays all 3 Nest wifi devices , I select the one that I’ve been using and that is connected via Ethernet cable, I go though the promts but when I get to the “connect the Ethernet cable” - I get stuck! Nothing happens.. I also tried to swap the devices to see maybe that one is bad one now - not working. I also cannot log in to the Arris admin menu to see if I can bridge it.. I tried resetting, using “password” as

SBG7400AC2 cannot change network name and passwords

I got a refurbished SBG7400AC2 and set it up today. I can connect but I want to change the network names/passwords. I went to the website 192.168.100.1 and put in a stronger password. Then I went to the configure screen and tried the new password, the default “password” and the last 8 numbers of the serial number but nothing has worked. I’ve reset to default settings multiple times but it still doesn’t work. Everything has gone smoothly until now but this is getting really frustrating. Can anyone help?

2.4 GHz wifi super slow

My kid for weeks now has been having issues with the WiFi but I’ve been chucking it up to plaster and lathe house and distance from router. I just tried to print something from my phone while on the 2.4Ghz WiFi which worked in the past but was having issues. This lead to me removing the Ethernet cord from my computer and trying to connect my computer to WiFi.Upon running a speed test on speedtest.net, I was getting 5Mbps, if I’m lucky, while the 5GHz gives 300+ Mbps and Ethernet 500+ Mbps. I saw similar posts talking about changing the channel so I tried that and the best outcome was 30Mbps. Is my Surfboard SBG7400AC2’s 2.4GHz WiFi components shot? Did I hit the side of it or something to cause damage internally? Why is it so much slower? I get WiFi is supposed to be slower than wired but not to this extent. What can I do? Does Arris have an address to diagnose your router or something?

7600 Model does !!!!!NOT!!!!!! work with Spectrum

Pretty simple. I was setting up my 7600 surfboard, and it never prompted the activation sequence. So, I called Spectrum, and they informed me that they cannot activate it because it is not on their list of approved modems, routers, or modem + router combos. Please. If there are any website editors here for Arris. PLEASE REMOVE THE SPECTRUM COMPATIBILITY CLAIM FOR THE 7600 MODEL. It no longer works and I wasted nearly $200 on this piece of junk. If any officials read this, please contact me, this straight up is NOT okay.

USB Access folder permissions SBG7400AC2

After many years of owning the SBG7400AC2, I recently tried to use the USB port to have a shared folder easily accessible by everyone home for minor things like saving and sharing small files. I was able to connect a thumbdrive, set up the USB such that everyone access, as detailed on this very helpful page: https://arris.my.salesforce-sites.com/consumers/articles/General_FAQs/SBG7400AC2-USB-Media-Sharing I have no trouble seeing all the folders on the drive on my macbook and windows computers, however, I am completely unable to write anything to it on my network. Does this modem not permit writing function to the USB drives?
