Is it possible to connect an ac3800 max tri-band to a version hotspot that has an eternity port? Thanks in advance!
Can you tell me the latest firmware numbers for the W21 series? I was gifted 2 of these and I’m trying to update the firmware. Apparently that is usually automatic, but I want to be sure.
When I bring up the remove device page in the app, it only shows the satellite. I need to disconnect an individual device on the network not an entire W21.
I setup a G34 modem then later purchased a WC4T with 2 routers. After multiple cycles through the setup process I have the Modem wired to one of the WC4T with the second WC4T connected with no ethernet cables. All three have Wi-Fi enabled. I wasn’t able to have the Surfboard Central app connected to the WC4T and the G34 Modem at the same time. I don’t know if I would have been able to setup the system without a Computer to configure the G34 Modem and a Mobile device with the Surfboard app to configure the WC4T devices. It was frustrating to have continued failed attempts to setup a WC4T before realizing how to remove the G34 from the Surfboard app to get the WC4T to connect successfully. I then struggled connecting the second WC4T before only getting it to connect correctly without an ethernet cable attached.Pass → G34 wired to WC4T wireless to WC4TFail → G34 wired to both WC4TIt took multiple days of trial and error to get to this setup. Is this the optimal setup? I’ve tried to pu
Any news on upcoming MAX Wifi 7/BE systems? Most suppliers have been releasing them but its been quiet on the arris front since the vantiva acquisition
I am setting up a mesh network in my house to use primarily for music streaming and routine web processes and email. With respect to my audio system the best location for the modem and primary router would be in the basement just below my stereo gear. I realize that the standard guidance is not to place the modem router in the basement; but again that would be the best spot for my audio. I plan to have satellite routers on the first and second floors of the house. Has anyone set things up this way? Has it worked well?
When I try to access my ARRIS SURFboard mAX router, I get the following message:“The device or resource (the local IP-address for the router) is not set up to accept connections on port “HTTPS”. I have been using the IP-address or xxx.xxx.xxx.1 on my local network. Is that correct? If not, what address should I be using? If it is, how do I correct the issue?
I brought this from Amazon originally, I was never able to get the device past the Bluetooth connecting stage of setup..(the very first thing after plugging it in) we called the help line and spent over an hour on the phone with a Arris tech. They couldn't fix it, so they had us return ours and they would send us new ones. We are having the same issue with the new ones... we have done everything we found online and nothing is working.
After a year of using the W31 mesh, all a sudden, the satellite led turned red. I did a power cycle, the satellite turned back on, but couldn't connect to the main router. Then I did a factory reset on the satellite (holding reset button for 10 seconds). When it came back, I tried to add the satellite, its stuck on the "Connecting to your Satellite" screen. No matter how many times I tried (even reinstalling the app), the app can't find the satellite. Help.
I have a W130 that is all working fine from a netwrok point of view, but when I try to go into the android (v13) app (v 4.3.4) it was asking me to go through the setup procedure again (tried on two android devices, Phone and tablet) but would loop after the model was selected, and it was searching for the device. (I am sitting next to the main AX7800)I cleared out the cache for the surfboard max app on teh phone, and then it asked me to login with my email.. it sent me the verification code, which I typed in, and then the app loops on that screen.. (been waiting 10 mins on that screen)When I kill that and go back into the app, I get “1 validation error detected at ‘proposedPassword” failed to satisfy constraint:Member must satisfy regular expression pattern: ^[\s]+.*[\s]+$” when I try to sign in again.I then uninstalled the app, and reinstalled it, but I get the same looping on the verification screen (It says code verified at the top, but loops when I say next)Is there an alternate wa
I am using a G36 as my cable modem, router, and core WiFi network. I just added a W161 main and satellite mesh unit and installed the W161 in bridge mode so we will have one, unified network throughout the house. I was able to enable a guest network on the G36, but the Surfboard Central app won’t seem to let me activate a guest network on the W161. The W161 broadcasts a guest network, but I can’t configure it with a password. I’d like to have guest network coverage throughout the house, not just where the G36 broadcasts its WiFi signal. Is a guest network not configurable if I’m using the W161 in bridge mode? If it is, how can I set it up (or, put another way, what am I doing wrong)? Thanks!
Does the W133 router have a browser interface? If so how to access? Or am I limited to the phone app?
There seems to be conflicting messages on the box / tech specs. For example, specs say Download Speeds: (Wi-Fi 6) speeds up to 7.8 Gbps , yet the box says “perfect for 500 Mbps speed internet plans”. Do i need to get 500Mbps plan or will 2 of these work for a 1000Mbps plan ? I prefer to get the 1000Mbps plan, use the xFinity Gateway and use BridgeMode with these 2 Arris routers. Thanks all!
Had one of my W21s go down after the software update bricked one of my routers.received my replacement, and have been trying to add the second replacement w21 router as satellite. unfortunately, the main router doesn't show in surfboard central. I only see the modem in the application, so it won’t let me add a satellite. the main w21 router is blue and connected to the internet; just doesn’t show up in the Surfboard Central Application; therefore can’t add the satellite.saw a similar post, but didn’t see the issue ever resolved.
So I'm new with these routers, and I'm wondering I have 2 of these. Can I put one where my modem is at and also one on the opposite side of my house. Will it make the range further if I do that. Also, these are only Wi-Fi 6 not Wi-Fi 6E, so I can't get the 6GHz with these correct? Also, to get its max potential I need cat6 cables not cat5E. Am I correct about this?
