Password for 192.168.0.1 for SBG8300 Not working
When I try to login using the credentials identified it is not allowing me in. I cannot reset the modem because it was DIFFICULT adding devices to the 2.4 band. How can I find the correct password for 192.168.0.1? I also have been having difficulty adding the Chamberlain My-Q garage opener to the 2.4 bandwidth. Do you have any suggestions for this issue?
Arris Surfboard SBG8300 2Ghz connection problems
Every time I need to connect a home device to the 2G connection it is a frustrating experience. Most of the time I have to keep trying over a period of days and then finally it connects -- and thankfully -- stays connected and reconnects following power outages just fine. BUT I can’t go on like this having to repeat this process when a device needs to be reset. Here’s what I have discovered with my Orbit Sprinkler Control WIFI Hub:Connecting to 2G band, on entering Surfboard WIFI information, app just spins forever. Never connects.Enable Hotspot on my phone, on entering WIFI information, app connects immediately. Enable guest network on Surfboard, on entering WIFI information, app just spins forever.Enable guest network on Surfboard, on entering WIFI information with on-purpose bad password, connection refused in a couple seconds.Enable guest network on Surfboard, disable authentication completely, on entering WIFI information app connects immediately. So … what’s the problem with th
SGB8300 Connected but no Internet
I am having issues connecting to the internet with my new SGB8300 modem. Service is through Cox and they confirmed that they are seeing the modem and everything on their end is connected. I am unable to get connected via both wifi and LAN line. The error is connected but no internet. I have restarted/reset the modem several times with no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated on how to get connected to the internet.
surfboard SBG8300 - Lag Spikes
I got this modem router ~60 days ago (of course past my return time) and have recently ran into what seems like bottlenecking/spikes in ping randomly while gaming/streaming. I originally thought this issue was just my pc but then my devices connected via Wi-Fi also had buffering hiccups This didn’t start until yesterday. Unplugged and replugged everything. Contacted ISP, everything was good on their end. Deleted temp files..etc…etc. only not new part of the hardware is my 30ft cable wire. However, it was working fine with my previous modem router and internet speed. when I test the speed I’m at expected levels. But again, it’s random when it happens and it’s across multiple devices. has anyone ran into this? Any help is welcome
Intermittent / no connection
I bought an 8300 so I could turn in our Comcast rental wifi modem. I selected the 8300 in part because it advertised the highest square foot coverage. We have a basic Xfinity plan - 75 Mb, and that has always been plenty (It was plenty for us at 25 and 50, back in the days when those were the basic plan data rates)The 8300 has so far been much less reliable, especially for my older Win7 laptop, which won’t connect at all despite 3 bars and 30 foot distance - almost line of sight location...my laptop connects only to our extender for the kids rooms down a hall, and that only intermittently. Out of curiosity I tried configuring the 8300’s guest network for 2.4G - still no joy.I turned on WiFi band steering and that somewhat helped, allowing me to connect but still only via the extender.Ideas anyone?
Continues disconnection of 24. wifi on SBG8300
As the title states, I received my SBG8300 modem/router two days ago. I immediately noticed that the 2.4 Wifi kept disappearing, and I lost connection. I’ve factory reset the modem, and the problem persists, and now my Alexa and Smart Life app is failing to connect since it requires 2.4 wifi. The website shows it is active. This is one of many problems I have experienced. I could use the web but not the mobile app, as it wouldn’t connect. Now I can use the mobile app, but the web won’t connect. Is this a product defect?Update: I got the Alexa and Web working. I’m still experiencing 2.4 wifi dropping while the app and web state it is online.
SBG8300 Port Forwarding FQDN on LAN
Port forwarding works from Internet to my server, eg: https://SnellsNotebook.us properly produces a web page to an internet user. However attempting to connect to the server using its FQDN (SnellsNotebook.us) from device connected to the LAN (wired or wireless makes no difference) results in accessing the router’s login web page. This behavior is unique in my experience, as all of the routers I have had previously would resolve the FQDN the same regardless of whether the request came from WAN or LAN.Static address for my web server srv1.local is 192.168.0.10I have forwarded ports 80 and 443 to 192.168.0.10Port Triggering is off. RIP is off. DMZ is off. Symptom remains if 192.168.0.10 is in the DMZ. ALG has all options checked. No devices are bridged.I have seen references that claim routing to the FQDN from with the LAN are not supposed to work. If that is the case for the ARRIS SBG8300 can anyone recommend a cable modem/router that will perform the way I want it to?
Arris SBG8300 stopped broadcasting 2.4 GHz band
I have a Arris SBG8300 DOCSIS3.1 Modem Router. I had separate bands for WiFi, one 2.4 GHz and other 5 GHz. Both used to show up on wifi settings for connection. For the past two days I don’t see 2.4 GHz band anymore. I seldom see the 2.4 GHz band but when I try to join that network, I get the message “Couldn’t join network”. I have smart devices which use 2.4 GHz band and since 2.4 GHz is no more available, all the smart devices are useless. I have tried restarting the modem. I have also done a factory reset but 2.4 GHz band does not show.Any help is appreciated.
Audio cutting out during virtual meetings?
I recently installed an Arris SGB8300. Prior to installing, I almost never had issues with audio during my meetings. Now, the audio frequently cuts out for about 3-5 seconds. I can still see peoples’ mouths moving and the live captions pick up what they are saying but I cannot hear it. During meetings, I am connected to the 5Ghz network. I have Breezeline/Atlantic Broadband for an ISP. Here’s what I’ve tried:--reset gateway--connect to ethernet--turned off guest networks--audio with multiple sets of headphones (corded and wireless) and straight from computer speakers--happens in both Teams and Zoom calls, also happens when private listening to Roku streaming--run speed tests (very fast internet) and wifi analyzers--manually changed network channelThe only thing that has fixed it without fail is switching to my phone’s hot spot, so I am pretty certain it is the gateway. Is there a setting I should be looking for that I am missing here? I am pretty fed up with it and ready to send it bac
SBG8300 Periodically Drops Internet
I have an SBG8300 modem/router connected to Comcast/Xfinity Cable.I bought it from BestBuy last month, and it was working completely fine in the first few days (around 5 days). However, it periodically loses internet connection about every 2-4 days, and I have to unplug and plug back the modem each time to restore the connection. I called the ISP customer service, and they said they had updated the settings, but the same scenario kept happening afterward. Is there any possible reason for this? The WAN status when the internet is not working is similar to the one when the internet is working.
reset to factory setting
Bought a used SBG 8300. Modem works except wifi was setup by previous user and I do not have the password. I tried to reset the modem by pressing the reset button more than 5 seconds however the modem would not revert back to factory settings after the reset. What are my options?
Optimum unable to provision SBG8300
Hello -- Optimum provisioning is not updating the WAN IP address properly to get out to the internet -- still showing the internal WAN IP address so can’t get out to the internet. I can get the WIFI set up so it’s got have something to do with proxy or security or some setting within the admin portal. They want to send out a technician at $60 for service call. I don’t want to go there if someone knows what setting I should be updating to make it provision properly…..Any help is appreciated!!!
