SBG8300

Howdy,      I use FileZilla for work and I work remotely. My company and internet provider cannot help me. Any ideas what could be blocking access? I’m using the Surfboard SBG8300.     All FileZilla says is Connecting to < SERVER NAME >, then < Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity > followed by < Could not connect to server >     However, if I change my wifi to my iPhone Personal Hotspot, it connects very fast so I know my credentials are correct.      I hope you can help, I’ve been struggling with this (off and on) for over a year.Later

What android app do I need for the SBG8300?

I have noticed a trend with surfboard modem router internet output ports failure. This is my 2nd modem over last 3-4 years. I had same issues with previous modem . I purchased SBG8300 last year. It has 4 internet output ports. Initially first output port failed. Now all 4 ports failed. I called customer service but call doesn’t go through. I am very disappointed.   

The warrantee on my SBG8300 expired in October, and in November, so did the unit itself (both leds solid blue instantly on power up, no appearent boot sequence, no WiFi signal, no change after pressing reset button). Is it worthwhile to try to get this unit repaired?

Is it common problem with surfboard modem with ethernet ports? I have purchased SBG8300 in 2024 and put in service in May-2026. Initially 2 ethernet ports quit working and I switched my ethernet to a working port. Last week remaining 2 ports quit working. Wi-Fi is working as normal. I have my internet service with Xfinity. I am thinking to call Xfinity to ship their own modem to get rid of SBG8300. I have lost a quite a bit of money on SGB8300. Very disappointed.   

I previously used the web to login in to my SBG8300 Device Manager, but receive an error number 0000-1900 that my Chrome browser version is out of date every time I log in, yet the version on the error message is an old one.  I also receive the same error message if I log into the Device Manager using the Edge browser. I downloaded the new Surfboard Central app, but when I click “Network”, the page goes through the endless refresh cycle, circling and circling and circling…..How is this resolved so I can manage my modem/router gateway on the app?

  Please help me with my ISSUES getting into modem softwareI have an Arris SGB8300 and use microsoft edge browser.I changed my admin password to the router/modem.I logged in successfully to 192.168.0.1→ I was warned my Edge Browser was unsecure→ I was to use 70.0.3538.110 (later tried and got …  (similar message as one shown)I then attempted to forward a port (found where - but had extra fields to fill in)I logged outWhen I wanted to log back to router … I got the HMMM … Can’t reach this page TAUNT)I think it is my machine blocking … but IDK..

All of the devices on my sbg8300 network are showing up on the arris web interface but only 1 device is showing up on surfboard central app on my iphone 13 pro. I tried uninstalling the app, rebooting the sbg8300, and then reinstalling the app. I also tried the factory reset of the sbg8300.

Hello, we have a SBG8300.I got a new phone and the surfboard central app has me starting over with set up, but it claims it doesn't support my model and directs me to the other surfboard app. The other surfboard apps needs a log in, and I can only get that log in info from the central app that I'm forced to restart set up on. Unsure how to proceed. We can still use our Wi-Fi, but I have no way to get in there to change or update anything

In my area, Spectrum just upgrade their cable to “symmetrical” (sometimes called “full duplex”) signaling.  Even though they list the SBG8300 as a supported product, they basically said “tough”. Is there a firmware upgrade available that will make the the SBG8300 work on a symmetrical network ?

Password reset 

I'm trying to port forward to set up a zomboid server with my friends but every time i add the ports i get an “Operation Failed” error. I have the correct UDP ports and all just when activated i get that error every time and I’m not sure what i could do to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Been using my Surfboard SBG8300 modem and router for 4-5 years with no issue. Over night, the modem-router stopped allowing a connection to the internet. Both lights on the surfboard are solid green. I have no problem accessing the admin panel. When I go into the admin panel, it notes that WAN internet is inactive.  Tried restarting, power cycling and a full factory reset.  ISP is Optimum and we have a 500mb plan. ISP said it is likely an issue with the modem-router and it will likely need to be replaced, but is sending out a tech tomorrow. Any other troubleshooting I can do/any thoughts on what might be the issue? 

Is there a software or firmware update?  my Xfinita speed is high but download speeds are low, where in the Arris site do i fine or manage my divice?

All of a sudden I am unable to access the website (because it times out) for my email.  I had no problem since I had the SBG8300 which I bought July 2023 until a couple days ago.  The website for my email provider PA.NET is webmail.pa.net.  After I installed a VPN (Nord VPN) I can access the website.  Comcast is my internet provider.  I checked with them and they saw no problems.  I checked with PA.NET and they could not find any problem.  I can get my email using comcast as a internet provider with no problem. I can get the email using Verizon on my cell phone when using only Verizon as the provider.  When I use comcast through the SBG8300 on my cell phone the email times out.  I use wireless WIFI.  I tried hooking the computer directly to the SBG8300 and still had the same problem.  I have tried 3 different computer and they all had the same problem.The only thing common with this problem is the SBG8300.I would appreciate if you could help me find a sol

I have a flashing blue light and a solid green wifi light on SBG8300. What does that mean abd how do I fix it? I already recycled power a few times, used reset button a few times, and replaced coax cable. Also called ISP and they said no problems on their end.

I lost the owners manual for my SBG8300, where can I get another one?

No internet- Solid blue lights for online & WiFi. ISP came to house confirmed strong signals on all lines. I Factory reset the modem and lights never changed. Plugged into different outlet, same. Can not connect to internet, any assistance would be appreciated :) 

Modem has strong  signal but still not connecting. Cable company checked all wires and inputs and signal is strong. Blue stable light on for online & WiFi. Cable company also did factory reset, still not connecting to internet. Please help so I can trouble shoot as I work from home. thank you 

I currently run a SBG8300, and I wanted to add some more range to my network.  I purchased a combo that come with an A21 and W11.  I tried using the app, but when I go through all the screens to log in after saying I’m already activated, I get an error code of 0000-1612.  Any way I can get around this?I can connect to the modem with a desktop using the 192.168 etc, but I can’t find anywhere to add the A21.  

Yes i am having an issue accessing one certain website. I was able to access it last week no issues, and over the weekend something must have changed because it only gives a ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT. I have tried multiple browsers/computers/Ethernet and wifi/flushed dns/releaseandrenew ip.The only time i can get access it from home is then i am on my phones 5g, as soon as i switch over to  my network i can no longer access it. I have called my ISP and they said they can not help because it is not there equipment, and this issue has to be with the Modem and company
