Hello, I just got a new SBG8300, 2.4G wifi appeared at the beginning, but after changing the SSID and password, it disappeared. I have tried General FAQs: SBG8300: Changing the Wi-Fi Channel (salesforce-sites.com) to change channel to 1,6,11, none works. I did setup 2.4G Security Mode as “Open”, didn’t work. Reset didn’t work either. Also, my “Wi-Fi Spectrum Analyzer” doesn’t show any results after scanning, both 2.4G and 5G options. 5G is working very well, just no 2.4G at all. I have saw a few topics here about this 2.4G problem, I guess this might be a defect, not really a channel conflict issue, do we have a final solution for it now? Thanks!
I got a Arris SBG8300 recently and ever since I have been unable to access some websites and mobile apps (like What’sApp) on ethernet and wifi. Some websites are just ridiculously slow. Speedtest.net does not even work. I cannot sync my clock in Windows to any time servers (tried microsoft, google, ntp.org, nist.gov). My ISP says there’s nothing wrong with my connection. I’ve tried updating DNS servers and still having the problem. When I switch to my sibling’s wifi (same isp, different modem) all of these things work instantly and quickly. Not sure what else to do or what to check.
I recently switched my home Modem/Router to the SBG8300 and upgradED my xFinity internet to 800 MBPS. I am observing that the max WiFi speed is around 450-550 MBPS range. Does anyone know if this is what I should expect or if this an xFinity issue or a Modem/Router issue? How do I go about troubleshooting this?
I have 3 arris modem/router combos and they all failed in less than 2 ½ years. The last one I had was 8300 combo and the lasted 1 ½ years. I was supposed to have a 2 year warranty. Called tech support at least 4 times and talked and talked. demonstrated that the modem failed. Would not honor warranty. When I first called mid i bought from Amazon and that the warranty was not valid. I called Amazon the they said they were an authorized dealer for Arris products. They even showed the 2 year warranty in their sales ad on-line. Is anyone there then me having warranty issues???? The tech support is from India and it is very hard to understand what they are saying. Very frustrated. Won’t buy Arris products ever again. Help!!!
I set up port forwarding for my AirTV and Camera security system. All works fine for a day or so and then stops working. I was rebooting my router to resolve this issue but found that simply turning port forwarding off and then back on solves the problem. It is kind of frustrating that I need to do this on a regular basis. Is this a know issue? Is there a fix on the way? Is there a work around? Any help would be appreciated.
I am getting this error code when trying to set up my app with the SBG8300. I have not changed the network information as this is a new device — This is the first time trying to set up. Device is receiving and transmitting as all devices in the home are connected using the temporary SSID on the label. What is the issue?
I have Xfinity Comcast cable internet service. I am provisioned 1000 Mbps download / 20 Mbps Up.When I run speedtest either from Xfinity or speedtest.net, the test says I roughly get around 300MB download give or take. I had Xfinity come out because I didnt think I was getting the 1000 MBPS service. They tested from the Coaxial cable prior to the cable modem a 1000 MBPS service with their meter equipment. They tested coming from any of the LAN ports with their meter equipment and it shows getting 1000 MBPS service. But for some reason when my ethernet cable is plugged into my PC or laptop from any of the cable modem LAN ports, I am getting approx 300 MB. Xfinity even hooked up their laptop into one of the LAN ports and they also saw an approx 300 MB download speed too.Is the SBG8300 throttling down the internet speed when using the LAN Ports? When I use the WIFI 2.5 and 5, my speeds are what they should be. The 5 GHZ is showing around approx 500 MB download speed. This should n
My sbg8300 will run fine for 5 or 6 day or sometimes only 1 or 2 days and then just randomly powers off completely ( no lights) I unplug it lights come back on it reboots and connects … sometimes for only a couple of minutes then powers back off other times it stays on for days with no issues… I have changed the power cord.tried other receptacles… I have done a factory reset. I can find no pattern … it is in an open environment so doesn’t appear to be overheating related ….warm to touch but not hot. Please help. Thanks
NordVPN doesn’t give an error, it just simply won’t connect at all while on the wifi with the sbg8300 router. any ideas on how to troubleshoot what the error is exactly? I have gotten this with nordvpn on some other wifi networks as well, particularly some airport wifis, etc, but most of the time it just connects. In addition, every time I try to connect a Ring device, it says to “check internet connection”, even on the 2.4ghz network. Any idea how to get that to work?SIP has been disabled already
whatsapp calling (and a select few other apps) works on any other router on my network, but not my sbg8300. How do you change the settings on the sbg8300 to allow for whatsapp calling to work? can connect to whatsapp and send messages, just not the calling feature. Also NordVPN does not work on this router - how can this be allowed?
This post is referring to my past posting in this forum topic titled “intermittent disconnects SBG8300”.I am interested in finding out if there is/are any settings for the router portion of the modem that could have an affect on disconnects I am receiving when gaming. I have narrowed it down to the router being at the root of my problem.I had set-up “enable bridge mode”, which completely bypasses the router for a direct connect through the modem and experienced no disconnects.Any help would be appreciated. Also, it is still under warranty. Is there a way for me to contact Arris directly for tech support or does their warranty only pertain to repair and or replacement?
Hi All, New to the community here. I’m having a problem with getting periodic disconnects with my SBG8300 while playing the game Fallout 76 (Bethesda Softworks). I have been back and forth with Bethesda Tech Support about this problem and we have gone through many different troubleshooting scenarios. For clarity, the disconnects occur anywhere from 15 minutes to half hour and up to an hour of game play. What happens is the game notifies me that I have been disconnected and returns me to the game’s launcher. Working with tech support we did find recently that by enabling bridge mode in the modem, which bypasses the router portion of the modem seemed to have a positive effect and I had no disconnects. Bridge mode disables wifi and only allows ethernet connect. Which leads me to my question. Is there something I can check or do or set in the modem to further troubleshoot my problem.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
