Have a SBG 8300 gateway and I am unable to connect to my work server. Internet connection is fine. I unfortunately have basically no understanding of how this works. My IT person says it’s a xfinity problem, xfinity says it’s a modem problem. Which I believe because I can log on everywhere but home.
Sbg8300 isn't recognizing the 2 play fi devices that worked fine with my previous router. I run the setup routine but they don't show up, have done factory resets on both devices. Am thinking there may be something in the surfboard setting preventing the discovery of them. Would appreciate any suggestions or insights. Thanks in advance.
When I go to Arris Surfboard in the router (SBG8300 btw), I go to parental controls to manage devices, all I get is the option to manage devices (which is enabled) or access type (which is set to allow all) and even when switching these, I still get no option to add and manage a device. Its also keeps giving me bad certificates when using Chrome, Firefox, or Edge where it gives me a risk warning when going to 192.168.0.1 and each one tells me my browser is out of date and not compatible, I dont know if this is the issue causing features to not work or not, but firmware and browsers are all updated. any solution?
Hi there, My friend recently purchased SBG8300 and I was helping her in setting up the device. During the process there was a security check and that was asking for a captcha code to type in, but it was blank, and no captcha is available. this was on the surfboard central app.when I tried completing it in 192.168.0.1 on the network set up wizard step 1, again there was a blank captcha code and was not able to complete the set up. I will appreciate if anyone can help me with this.
I recently setup my Modem (SBG8300) to bridge-mode, and now I cannot get to the modems admin page.I can get to the page sometimes. Itll load maybe 1 out of every 10 times, but I cannot get past the login page (192.168.0.1/login.php). I’ll get a page that says “this site can’t be reached”..Any ideas?
5 months ago my brother-in-law purchased an Arris SBG8300 Modem/Router, which he understood would eliminate a monthly rental fee from Cox Cable. He has issues communicating so I advocate for him.The Arris Modem/Router worked fine for about a month and then started to degrade as far as buffering. When we called Arris Customer Support at 877-466-8646, we were told the problem was how Cox Cable set up the Modem/Router.My brother-in-law then had a Cox technician come over. After several tests, the technician concluded there was nothing wrong with the internet, that the buffering was in fact the Modem/Router.We then called Arris customer support back and was told to change some settings in the Modem/Router via the computer. The changes made no difference in the what was now constant buffering. When we called again, a different Arris customer service person would suggest the same settings as before. My brother-in-law then took the Modem/Router back to Best Buy, but was told he was past the
Hi, just bought the SBG8300, trying to set it up with Xfinity and it is working; but when tried to connect the app Surfboard Central I get the error 0000-1614. it basically says my mobile device cannot connect to the gateway, although it is already connected. I tried to “forget” the network and tried again several times with the same result, it connects but then it gives me that error.Any ideas how to solve this? I just want to change the name and password; the router is working fine, couple of phones and my laptop are using the Wi-Fi.Thanks.
We just bought the SBG8300 modem. I changed the network name from the factory setting of SBGnnnnnn to a custom network name and pw which is easier to remember and type in. My Mac connected to it with no problem, but the two PCs in the house always rejected the password. We finally had to select the secondary (guest) network with the unchanged network name and password. Why can’t the Windows computers connect to our custom-named network?
I tried switching to manual selection of 1,6 or 11 and all of them are not stable either.I moved many of wifi appliances to 5 GHz (which is very stable) as I thought there were too many appliances on 2.4 GHz. It helped for couple of weeks, but now it started dropping again. Is there limit to how many appliance I can connect to 2.4 GHz?
Router Gateway Port Forwarding Setup Failure - getting error "Please use only AlphaNumeric Characters"
When trying to setup a Forwarded Port in the Router Gateway Application (login successful and all services functioning and identified), I choose connected device from the “Select a device to add IPv4 and IPv6 address” button… the fields are populated automatically by the Router program, and then I enter the port number in the start and end port boxes, then hit Save…An Alert popup box appears with “Please use only alphanumeric characters”.Even if I populate the boxes with manual keyboard entry, I receive the same result.I have tried to use the mobile phone web GUI version of the Router Gateway, and receive the same result as I have described above (using the Computer CPU to add the new Port Forward service.HELP?!

Your Gateway's web interface has been tested to work with the minimum version: 70.0.3538.110.You may proceed with an unsupported version, but you might experience issues using the pages.” SBG8300 was bought 3 weeks ago at BestBuy..My Chrome version is: “Chrome is up to dateVersion 103.0.5060.114 (Official Build) (64-bit)” WHY the silly message?

New SBG8300 connects perfectly to 2 cell phones, 2 laptops and 1 tablet, using the 5G SSID. Canon printer detects the 2.4G SSID as well as the 2.4G Guest SSID, but not the 5G SSID. Please advise if there is a solution for this.ThanksSteve O
I have SBG8300 router from my ISP. I generally login to their router page to enable wi-fi ( normally it is in disabled mode). By mistake I clicked Bridge mode button though I don’t even know what the bridge mode is. Now I can’t login to the http://192.168.100.1 at all. The browser URL shows https://192.168.100.1/wizard_step1.php and runs for ever. How will I be able to login to router settings. I appreciate any help. internet is working normally. But whatsapp message refresh is taking forever saying “Wiating for this message. This may take a while Learn More “ .
