AX 3000 short life?

AX 3000 - short life? Xfinity has been to my house twice, replaced all the lines, tested the signal, and isolated the modem as the problem. I have 2G service. Service is intermittent, extremely slow, some apps won’t even load. Anything else I should look at before I junk this? Pretty disappointed, really unhappy to be spring g for another modem.

G36 ethernet download speed is slow

I have been using Xfinity’s 1.2 Gigabit plan for about 5 months. I was using this with a Netgear C7100V, but as it maxes out at 800Mbps and I no longer get voice service from Xfinity I upgraded to a Arris G36 about a month ago.My office PC is connected to the G36 via a unmanaged gigabit switch. When I ran speed tests with my Netgear gateway I used to consistently get download speeds around 800Mbps. (My history shows 795-817 Mbps).  Since upgrading I’ve consistently been getting under 500 Mbps. (My history shows I once got 641, but on average it’s 450-460mbps).  Since I’m going through a gigabit switch connected to one of the gigabit ports on the G36 I’m expecting to get closer to 950Gbps. Based on similar posts I’ve checked a number of different settings but can’t seem to find anything wrong. Can anyone tell me why I’m not getting the expected speed?  It seems odd that I purchased a newer, faster gateway to only get slower service.I’m using the same cables and hardware that I used with

Did the self connect from the app. Still no internet or wi fi. When I log into modem it shows connected. Wi fi is connected, no internet on phone

Trying to Activate G34 with Breezeline

I am trying to activate my arris surfboard G34. It is connected to Internet cable and electric (overnight)My provider (Breezeline) said wifi is definitely being supplied to my cable. Breezeline said I need to have Arris activate the surfboard G34 modem. I got as far as create new account (selected user name, email and password)I can’t figure out what to do next to activate the modem. I have been working with provider for 3 days and today they said Arris has to activate the modem. Please  helpMelanie Preisendanz[edit: removed personal information]PS Do I need to do something to activate the Arris Surfboard warranty

Surfboard central app stuck on get started on G34

I’m trying to set up a new cable gateway but the app is stuck on the get started screen. If I disconnect the modem it will update to say it’s not connected. I’ve tried resetting it and restarting my phone  Anyone experience this? Should I just use a browser to set it up?

G36 WIFI issue with DOCSIS 3.1

My S36 Wifi connection speed varies after DOCSIS3.1 support upgrade from Xfinity.  My earthnet connection speed is very stable to 300 MB. I have both 5Ghz (most my apple devices such as MacBook Pro, Ipad AIr, Iphone, Mac Minis) and 2.4 Ghz connection (Brother printers). Is it possible to set up S36 to ccept DOCSIS 3.0 or do I need to ask Xfinity to support DOCSIS 3.0 only?

Network offline and ethernet is working on G34

Wifi6 Protocol G34 - Intermittent internet connection on iPad while accessing Zoom.

Zoom keeps skipping and lagging on my I-pad Pro (latest generation) ever since I installed the new Arris G34.  I was told by my IT department that the Wifi6 seems to be the issue. Anyone know how to disable the wifi6 either on the I-pad or router?

Problems Connecting Devices to AR36 Arris Router

I’m not super techie or anything close to it but I do find it necessary to make this post. I have an Arris G36 Router that someone gave to me barely used. My ISP is xFinity and to get away from renting an xFinity router, I decided to replace it with the Arris G36.Every since I started utilizing the Arris G36, I have had a multitude of connection issues especially with my Explore Scientific weather station, an Epson ET-3850 printer, and (2) Linksys RE7000 Wi-Fi extenders. My passwords that were set up with the Arris router for the 2.4  GHz and 5 GHz haven’t changed but I am continually being notified that when I try to connect to the router that the passwords are wrong. I have tried everything that I possibly know how to connect and it is just not working. Currently, the Security Mode in the Arris G36 is set to “WPA2/WPA3 Mixed Personal (AES)” and I’m not sure if that has anything to do with connecting, nor do I know how to change it to something else.Can anyone help me with any of this

G34 DDNS Dynamic DNS update issue

September 2024 I ended Dynamic DNS service from dyndns (seemingly no longer working) and set up my G34 DDNS settings correctly with https://freedns.afraid.org/ To confirm it was working, I manually set an incorrect address at freedns.Then I disconnected the G34 coax (simulating a network outage) and reconnected. After some time freedns showed the correct address so the DDNS update that ran after the cable network was restored must have worked.But now, November 2024, Comcast has apparently once again renumbered the network. freedns does not have the new address, but retains the address from September. I can reach a host inside the G34 local network (at a remote location) so I have discovered the newly assigned IP address from Comcast. But freedns does not have it, so DDNS updates are not arriving.Is it possible the November 2023 firmware update which broke port forwarding has minimized DDNS updates in some way?Please tell me how often DDNS updates are sent, after power up?

Security Camera Connectivity Issue on G34

I recently upgraded my WIFI Router/Cable Modem to an Arris Surfboard G34.  It has been a challenge getting all my devices connected to say the least.  I’m down to my last device.  My Arlo security camera doesn’t seem to be recognizable using the G34.  I’ve  the Arlo instructions but I keep getting the same message no Arlo devices found on the network.  It worked fine on the previous wifi router using the same procedure.  The Arris manual gives instructions for computers and smart phones but not devices like this.  I’m open to suggestions.

Surf Board G34 bought on a base , unable to activate it

My Surf Board G34 is not responding to my Xfinity service. I bought this modem in a (military) Base exchange I can’t return it elsewhere. Could I ship and exchange for another one that works with my service?

Surfboard G34 modem will assign IP correctly to any Apple computer

Today I have been trouble shooting for countless hours trying to figure out why my new G34 modem will not properly assign IPs to any of the Mac computers I have on my small network. All Macs get assigned an IP of 169.254.XXX.XXX and subnet mask of 255.255.0.0. Any PC I connect to the the network will get a proper IP of 192.168.0.XXX with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. I have tried to enter a manual 192 IP address for an Mac and it looks good but, will not work. All Wi-Fi connections to any Mac computer are assigned normal IP address of 192.168.0.XXX and work normally however. I have supported both Macs and PC as profession for over 40 years now and this one has me stumped and is by far the difficult thing I think I have ever come across in my life long IT support career. Also, I can access the web portal at 192.168.0.1 from a PC but, can not figure out how to log in to the page. I am using the email address I used with the SURFboardCentral app with the Wi-Fi access key on the modem bu

G34 Modem Will activate but with a local address.

I just got a G34 Surfboard modem today. I had xfinity assist me on setup. I had mistankenally given them the WAN MAC address for activation. I was able to get to the modem to work but it had given me a local address of 169.xxx.xxx I corrected MAC this with xfinity but, still can not get anything but, a local IP address of 169. Because of this I can not asses the web admin page. I am using a Mac running Sonoma. I tired reseting my network, followed by a restart. This did not work to resolve this issue. I had tried reset of all caches as well with no success as well.

g34 - Wi-Fi connected without internet

The g34 model I have is flashing blue the phones connected say connected without internet. The other devices say no connection unplugged and plugged multiple times cable internet provider they don't see it in the system is it fried?

Surboard G34 Constant Amber light

I had sparklight as my provider for a year and the G34 worked perfectly. I recently moved states and had to change my provider to Xfinity and now I can't connect to internet. Since moving into the Apartment, the G34 when I plug it in goes green for 1 second then turns Amber color and stays like that. I have no access to wifi or internet through it. Has anyone encountered this problem?
