I had xfinity out a few weeks ago to address intermittent internet connectivity. The same issue seems to be happening again since yesterday.Xfinity tech spent about 2 hours getting the updates to go through and I had hopes to be in the clear. Is there another update that is stuck? I would like to not have to replace this as I spent the extra money and it is supposed to be compatible with xfinity. My last modem and router set lasted me 8+ years. I think this Arris g36 is in year 2 and according to the site my warranty has expired…

I want to be able to change/create my own router admin password instead of having Surfboard Central create a fixed one for me. I couldn't find that option on the Surfboard Central app (android). Then I went over to the web GUI and when I go to change password, it gives you a warning to change the password in the Surfboard Central app for syncing purposes, but also has an option to ignore. Went back into the app and dug around in detail and there is NO CHANGE PASSWORD OPTION.Found a one year old post with my exact issue, but there was no definitive answers except to confirm that the app assigns a password and it cannot be changed. So, the question remains. Can I ignore the warning in the web GUI and change my password without it creating issues for me?? This is a huge security issue to not be able to create my own password.
New G 36 connected to Xfinity and online with solid blue light in front, via surfboard and Xfinity app setup process. At the last step, Surfboard app delivers Something Went Wrong Error Code: 0015-1805 and then I can go no further.We are online and connected, I just want to access to edit network name and password.
Does AARIS now have a valid authentication certificate for G34 Wi-Fi Cable Modem? How safe is it to use the 192.168.0.1 address? Can my computer get hacked using it? I use Wavebroadband via cable on my HP computer. I do not use the app on my phone.
Hi, I am attempting to set up a new Mesh wifi network in my three floor home. We’re pushing 5,000 sq ft and finding dead spots in the basement (TV) and on the 2nd floor (far end of house), and the old wifi Netgear extender just isn’t stable or great. I read online that I would need to disable the router function in my ARRIS G36 SURFboard cable modem/router combo first, then set-up bridge mode to connect it to a new Mesh network system. Any directions or guidance on this process? I don’t know how to disable the router function within my G36. I appreciate any network expert advise, thank you.
I purchased the G36 on October 10, 2023 for $276.87. For the last several weeks I have had incredible issues with connectivity. I am an Xfinity customer and there are no issues known or reported in my area so that would tell me it is the modem. This unacceptable for a piece of equipment that I’ve only had a little over a year. I lose connectivity multiple times a day and I’m spending more time resetting/rebooting than I am working. Is anyone else having these issues and can offer any effective solutions? Other than purchasing a new modem that is NOT an Arris.
The app wouldn't connect to my G36, kept getting 0000-1614 error code. So I logged into the web interface. After updating my password, it asked me to log in again. Fine no problems, BUT it won't accept my password! Now I have no way to log into my router/modem. It keeps telling me to use the email address I used for the app. Did but it still will not acknowledge my password. I've reset the modem so many times is sad. I'm fed up! How do I get my password to work on the website since the app won't work?
Had my g36 for about 2 weeks now. Worked fine during this period, but over last few days started dropping signal 1-3 times per day. Xfinity says my signal is ok. Quick reset of the modem and all is restored, but after reading some of the threads on this forum about the same issue with basically no resolution makes me worry that I should just return the device while I still can. Thoughts?
I wasted $350 on this modem/router and I will never buy an Arris again. There is a firmware update that is needed and Xfinity and Arris need to get their act together!! I work for Xfinity and the company has been buying modems from Arris for years!! So why is this issue with the G36 not being addressed!! I'm a technician and I even had a maintenance tech check the signals levels at my home and in the area and he said there is no issue. He said it's the firmware that needs to be updated on this modem. I want my $350 dollars refunded!!

I have a Surfboard app for our internet modem at our permanent home. We just purchased a new arris modem for our temporary home and I can’t seem to open a new app because it recognizes the one I already have for a different modem. I have a different email address I can use but it won’t give me an option it just opens it up to the one I already have.

Ranging from 150 to max 350 ish.I had a 1000 gig plan. Just upgraded to 1200 because it was less expensive. Im in VERMONTI was told by a buddy of mine an independent contractor that xfinity and spectrum, both throttle down speeds to all other modems EXCEPT their own and or the 5 or 6.They have on their approved list on the website. I bought this router/modem and got it connected with my internet provider, everything was fine until I noticed the 2.4ghz connection no longer had internet access. The 5ghz still works but I have electronics that need the 2.4ghz.
