After discovering that the modem was rebooting every 5 or 7 minutes “exactly” I completed a “Restore WIFI Defaults” action this cleared this rebooting looping condition. Apparently the restore allows the firmware to reload clean defaults fixing erratic behavior like I was experiencing. My question is how can I determine what the actual cause that sent the modem into this condition in the first place? The modem is relatively new and operated great for a couple weeks before this problem occurred. I don’t want to have to do a restore everytime this happens going forward. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Arris G18 stuck in a reboot loop

The G18 bootup process takes longer than other SURFboard gateways. After successful activating, a firmware update is pushed from our server to the G18 which will result in multiple reboots. The LED is Amber when the unit is rebooting.
Could you please let us know the name of your internet service provider and the speed plan which you subscribed from them?
When your gateway starts rebooting on its own, it could be due to poor signal reception or power fluctuations. To address this, try plugging the gateway into a different outlet. Additionally, to rule out service-related issues, check the cable signal levels.
Please refer to the link below for instructions on how to check your cable signal levels:

If you find that the signal levels are not within the recommended range, we suggest contacting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to have them reviewed and adjusted as needed.
