I’ve had my cable guy come out. I’m connected to the cable/internet . I’m trying to set up modem/Wi-Fi and cannot get it connected to my PC with ethernet cord.
Since your cable technician has confirmed that your internet is active but your G20 modem isn’t connecting to your PC via Ethernet, here are a few steps to troubleshoot:
Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely plugged into both the G20 modem’s LAN port and your PC’s Ethernet port.
Try using a different Ethernet cable to rule out a faulty one.
If your modem has multiple LAN ports, try a different port.
Restart the modem and PC by disconnecting for 2 to 5 minutes and reconnecting it back.
Please check the IP address by opening the command prompt (win + r and type cmd).
You also have Wi-Fi set up; try connecting your PC via Wi-Fi and see if the internet works.
If Wi-Fi works but Ethernet doesn’t, the Ethernet port on the modem or PC might be faulty.
If your previous modem was active, try calling your ISP to ensure they have properly registered the G20’s MAC address.
