Xfinity say its your fault - you say its them ..

CANT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE 

TOTAL nonsense

Could you please provide more details about the issue? If you’re referring to the web interface loading over HTTP instead of HTTPS, this is expected behavior.

When you access the gateway’s GUI using its local IP address, your browser may display a “Not Secure” warning. This is normal because local interfaces do not use public SSL certificates like regular websites. Despite the warning, the interface is safe to use since you are accessing it within your own network.

When it comes to firmware update, DOCSIS standards dictate that the service provider must distribute firmware updates to cable modem devices.  The end-user cannot simply install an update like most other network-enabled devices.

ARRIS develops the software update and makes it available to service providers.  The service providers qualify, test, and distribute the software update to devices on their network.  ARRIS has limited control or visibility on distribution by the service providers.
