Tried to activate my ARRIS G36 with Xfinity but they said my modem was refurbished and that it was still registered to another user. I purchased it at Best Buy and thought it was new.
What do I do?

Only internet service provider can remove the customer contact from the modem for activating unit on different customers name if your service provider confirm that is not possible then you need to return the modem to the place of purchase and get different unit.
