After an initial setup, I configured my wireless network to have 3 SSIDs.
1) Main Family Network
2) Guest Network
3) IOT devices
this setup took up a considerable amount of time and required some assistance from Arris Support.
without provocation or request, my G36 reset itself to its factory settings.
any insight as to why this happened and how I can prevent it would be greatly appreciated.

Its a modem/router combo device. Potentially it could have been triggered by the ISP. sometime provisioning changes can trigger it.
