I can't connect to Epson ET-3830 Printer with my new Arris Model G36 combo router/modem. I also can’t connect to my Whiskers Litter Robot 4 either with this new wifi. My phones and computers are connecting fine though. My printer troubleshooter said I should check to see if my privacy or separator feature is enabled in the access point which I have no idea on how to do. Any suggestions to help fix this?
In this case to isolate the issue could you please help me with few more details, are you able to see the network name on the device to connect to the modem Wi-Fi?
Are you using default Wi-Fi name to connect to the modem Wi-Fi?
Please try changing the Wi-Fi security mode on the modem GUI to change the Wi-Fi security mode for 2.4 network, then you will be allowed on the devices to connect to the modem Wi-Fi network.
Once you logged into the GUI please follow the steps to change the security mode
Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi > Networks> on the home page Edit Home 2.4 GHz
click on the drop down menu on the security mode and select option WPAWPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES)
click on save option.
I did this step and it didn’t help. Please try changing the Wi-Fi security mode on the modem GUI to change the Wi-Fi security mode for 2.4 network, then you will be allowed on the devices to connect to the modem Wi-Fi network.
For this step, I need you to send me the full address of the GUI, when I launch it from the mobile app, I can’t find those options and just get warnings that it is not a safe address. Once you logged into the GUI please follow the steps to change the security mode:
“change the security mode Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi > Networks> on the home page Edit Home 2.4 GHz”
How do you get there? I changed it I think but there is no direct path to the security mode. I clicked on everything. If you can’t post this to this platform, then send it to my email please.
Finally figured it out and am operational now, thank you.
