This has been the most frustrating last 9 months or so. I thought that this model would work well with my house rentals ISP ( COX ) Well, I have been plugging in and unplugging, reseting, rebooting, rebooting the modem, buying new RJ45, new switch, new dock, plugging in and unplugging again.

Why does this router keep DISABLING my ethernet connection. I keep the same config and its like a roll of the dice if it will work or not? If anyone has any thoughts Id LOVE to hear them. This can’t be user error, or a hardware issue, or maybe it could be. I am at a loss and VERY happy to be going on vacation for a week.

PLEASE HELP.

Is this issue happening only on the direct connection?  and the devices connected to home wifi are having proper internet connection without any intermittent connection issue?

Intermittent connection or no internet access occurs usually out of cable signal level, out of acceptable range and it will be resolved after the power level are adjusted by the service provider.

So for this we need to check the cable signal level to confirm what causing this issue to proceed further.

The wifi is off and on frequently, but its hardly noticeable. The give away for the ethernet connection is that my IP changes from in terminal and I have to go into 192.168.xx.xx and turn the port back on. It happens multiple times a week.  I’ve looked at the cable signal level and its right below acceptable or on the line, but I am in a rental and don’t have the authority to call the ISP myself. I guess this might be worth trying to explain to the home owner that their ISP is horrible 🙄
