On my new Arris G36 I tried to set up Port Forwarding because I run a small self written program to share files between all my devices. I have an old computer running a Tomcat instance and I set up Port Forwarding for 8080. However, I can’t access through a browser unless I completely disable by IPv4 Firewall settings. I can see no option to enable only certain ports

In this case you can try setting firewall setup in medium or low and save settings then try setting setup port forwarding on the modem interface just for the confirmation you can check the steps mentioned on the article below and make sure the port number which you are trying to use is opened on the port checker site.
