Using Microsoft Edge for the G34 GUI, the response became very slow, sometimes several minutes for GUI clicks such as Statis Addresses.  At one point a try to set a static address, or something else I must have done, left two static address list entries IP 0.0.0.0 MAC 00.00.00.00.00.00. Call that a 0s entry.  I switched to my preferred Firefox and the speed became normal again, but trying to [x] delete them made it worse.  I now have 8, 0s entries that can’t be deleted, all in one contiguous group.  As far as I can tell, any static address I create following those are never realized.  Since I had 72 S.A.’s before this mess I sure hope I don’t have to factory reset the G34 and start over -- more than an hour of typing and waiting for the G34 to respond.  I had an indication from Arris phone support this is a G34 bug but I stupidly phoned with my battery running out so my phone powered down and he couldn’t even call me back.  Is it officially a bug?  Is anything known about when, why or how it occurs?  Or anything about it?

I phoned Arris support and some things have come to light.  1) Arris engineering has a long list of problems they are supposed to solve but phone support has no access to it.  2) This problem might be fixed by a firmware update, but Arris company never supplies those; instead, it gives them to ISPs, who distribute the firmware update to their customers having Arris modems and vet the upgrade and OK it.  (I bought my G34 directly from Arris so I don’t know if my ISP,  Spectrum, even supports G34’s or knows anything about them.  I can certainly call them.)  3. Phone support I believe tells me that a G34 CANNOT DELETE a static address at all: clicking the [x] button on a static address does not work.  Having learned that, I now believe I generated my 0s entries when I clicked an [x].  A workaround in the future would be, never [x] but Edit the entry, or a lot of entries, to put the list in best order.

If you manually assign the static IP address using the correct MAC address and ensure the IP aligns with the gateway’s configuration, you can then delete the previous settings.
