Had several instances where my month old G34 drops my 5.0 band but 2.4 stays unaffected. We’re on Xfinity. Recycling the router reconnects both bands WiFi connection. Any insight on how to prevent the dropping of 5.0?

In this case we would suggest you to change the WIFI channel for 5G network. Basically you can use the 5G network on the devices only when you are next to the modem or the same room or place where the modem is, since it covers lesser range. Please follow the steps mentioned on the below article.
