I have a G34 on Cox that has good internet connection on 5Ghz (but with very poor range. The 2.4 Ghz has Wifi with good range but NO internet. I’ve tried changing to every channel, restarting the Gateway, but no luck. Any ideas to resolve would be appreciated please.
If you can able to connect to the 2.4 network but without internet then we would suggest you to check the WAN ip address on the modem settings page to isolate the issue so please login to the modem GUI and on the left side menu select.
Gateway > Connection > WAN > check for WAN IPV4 address on the modem GUI.
Thank you for your reply. I can login to the modem GUI and see the WAN IP4. What should I do next, please?
If the WAN IP address is not valid, you have to contact internet service provider and ask them to do re-provisioning the modem to fix this issue.
Thanks for the new reply. I contacted customer support again today and they had me change the SSID name, which solved the problem! I now have internet on 2.4Ghz. It’s a shame I couldn’t reuse my previous SSID.
