I own a G34 and when I try to connect a device with WPS that device always connects to the 2.4ghz frequency. How do I use the WPS function so that my device connects to the 5ghz wifi not the 2.4ghz.

Is band steering enabled? Devices usually connect to the 2.4ghz first and if they’ve shown they need faster speeds or their own roaming protocol calls for it, they’ll move to 5ghz.

Thats the benefit to bandsteering. But devices do start on the 2.4ghz if its used.

so other than enabling band steering, there’s no other way to specifically connect to the 5 GHz using WPS?

You’d disable band steering and set the 5ghz band with a separate ssid.

Then you’d manually connect to the 5ghz.
