Every few days, the Modem stops the Internet connection, and the only way to reset is to unplug and restart.  This is not due to power failures or any other issue.  It is happening 1-3 times a week and is a real problem  , I am with Xfinity

When the internet connection drops, does it seem like the gateway is rebooting on its own?
Also, when the connection is lost on both Ethernet and Wi-Fi, do the Wi-Fi network names disappear as well?

Make sure the gateway is placed in a higher, elevated location and away from potential sources of interference, such as concrete walls or microwave ovens.

Also we recommend checking the cable signal levels within the gateway. If the signal levels are out of the acceptable range, they can lead to the kind of rebooting issues you're experiencing.

When the signal levels are within the recommended range, your gateway can maintain a stable, high-quality connection to the internet

Please refer to the link below for instructions on how to check your cable signal levels:

If you find that the signal levels are not within the recommended range, we suggest contacting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to have them reviewed and adjusted as needed.

Thank you for the follow-up and information. I have checked all mentioned above, and all seem to be at the required levels and location.  Any other link to the specific settings in the different sections of the Gateway connection menu that I could check or change to the best setting?
