I wasted $350 on this modem/router and I will never buy an Arris again. There is a firmware update that is needed and Xfinity and Arris need to get their act together!! I work for Xfinity and the company has been buying modems from Arris for years!! So why is this issue with the G36 not being addressed!! I'm a technician and I even had a maintenance tech check the signals levels at my home and in the area and he said there is no issue. He said it's the firmware that needs to be updated on this modem. I want my $350 dollars refunded!!

What makes you think a firmware upgrade will fix your issue?

What is your actual issue in details? The post is more about complaining and less about whats actually going on and whats been tried.

We’re the community forum. Its where members of the public help out.

Getting a refund would require contacting support and going through them. (or returning it to where you bought it)

Hey, I am having the same issue with mine.  May I ask what your firmware is at? Mine is at AR01.05.020.13_032624_735.NCS.20

Could you let us know the product model number and the issue you are experiencing with it?

ARRIS develops the software update and makes it available to service providers. The service providers qualify, test, and distribute the software update to devices on their network. ARRIS has limited control or visibility on distribution by the service providers.

Very unpredictable . I set my cameras to static ip by name and mac address. most times when i reboot the router , it assigns the same name same mac address a dhcp ip address. Most other times when logging into the modem local web page it sits at initializing wireless network .. sometimes for 1 minute sometimes 2 minutes sometimes 30 minutes lol very unreliable poorly designed … maybe a firmware upgrade would not be a bad idea. My alexa? it gets an ip but i cannot see it in any tables through connected devices….. very very poor , especially for the price I paid … Shame shame Arris , please firmware update this entire thing … at times it is nothing but a brick imo

Please confirm the firmware version.

The device (camera) is connected with 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz networks.

Cameras are on 2.4 ghz, but that is just one of the many issues this router has . Just getting logged in sometimes takes 5 minutes sometimes 30 minutes, one time I had to factory reset it

The fact that the mobile app settings and the modem settings are not sync’ed will cause you a headache as well, so i choose not to use the mobile app

Its just flawed in many different ways as everyone has been speaking about.

Back to the cameras…. How does it even make sense that i have two ip addresses tied to one MAC address , that defies logic.
How do i have devices (alexa) on my network assigned an ip from that router but it does not show up under connected devices? lol anyway i hope that info helps you

I also have 15 devices connected to it, I just thought a $300 modem/router would be able to handle a work load like that. Not all devices are in use at once if that helps
