I just purchased an Arris Surfboard Wi-Fi cable modem model G36. I contacted Spectrum - my IP - they’ve sent the activation signal and see the modem on their side. They’ve sent reboot signals and it’s rebooted. They sent another signal, had me unplug for a full minute and plug it back in. The device maintains a blue light, my devices can connect via WiFi and Ethernet according to the surfboard app, yet there is absolutely no internet connectivity. What am I missing?

Are the Wi-Fi network names broadcasting?

To check if your gateway is properly activated by your internet service provider:

  1. Connect a computer to the gateway via Ethernet cable, Wi-Fi or connect your phone via Wi-Fi.
  2. Open a web browser and type 192.168.0.1 in the address bar. This should take you to the web interface page.

To assist you further, could you please confirm:

  • Whether you have set up the SURFboard Central app properly?
  • When accessing the web interface page (which can be done even without internet), does it ask for login credentials or prompt you to set up a password?
