I just purchased the Surfboard G36 modem wifi router today January 13,2024, and set it up with my internet provider. it’s working fine. do i have to register it with Arris ? or will i be perfectly fine just as i am ? I ask because i just want to operate it via my internet provider and not have to go through headaches of resolving issues with the manufacturer.

In general, all modems/routers have 2 year warranty period and only refurbished as 1 year warranty period.

To make it more convenient would suggest contacting the below link and registering you’re modem with Arris is advisable to calculate the warranty period so as a customer you can have the accurate time frame of your G36 warranty period.

It’ll work fine as is. the registration can help with warranty/support issues if they arise but it isn’t required
