Just purchased a G36 and got it set up last night. Ran several speed tests that are consistently half what it should be. Connected ethernet cable and tested again which provided 915MB for what should be 1GB, but at least it was not 350MB-520MB.

So I started manually changing the Channels and tested each one. The max speed was around 520MB with some channels being down in the 200MB range.

I also tried changing the Modes and the Channel Bandwidth settings.

Is the G36 just not capable of doing 1GB wifi?

This just gets more comical as I continue to try and troubleshoot this G36 device. I put it in Bridged Mode and connected my previous Wifi router, which has provided continuous 1GB data transfer speed for years, and now my speeds have dropped under 100GB.

When it comes to Wi-Fi, you cannot expect consistent speeds, as they often fluctuate due to interference in the frequency bands. However, with a wired Ethernet connection, you can achieve the full subscribed speed. Please also note that speed test results may vary depending on the performance of the device being used.

We recommend checking the cable signal levels within the gateway. If the signal levels are out of the acceptable range, they can lead to the kind of connectivity issues you're experiencing.

When the signal levels are within the recommended range, your modem can maintain a stable, high-quality connection to the internet

Please refer to the link below for instructions on how to check your cable signal levels:

If you find that the signal levels are not within the recommended range, we suggest contacting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to have them reviewed and adjusted as needed.
