I recently switched to xfinity 2 gig plan, bought the G36 router with the 2.5 gig port, using a CAT 8a wire from the router to the computer, but I only get 800mbps-1200mbps, not the full potential. Already spoke with people in xfinity in person and online, both say that on their end I got the 2.0 gig plan. What could the issue be?

using the 3 basic ones that pop up, speedtest.net -- fast.com -- fiber.google.com and all of those show the same range 700-1200mbps

for whatever reason my Xfinity app shows the 2.0 gig plan of my main page, but when I go to manage/change plan, I have an invisible 1.2 gig plan selected (???????) Like it doesnt apparently exist BUT somehow I have it. I tried changing to the 2.0 Gig but it doesnt work at all. Tried doing 500Mbps and it wont even let me change to that

We recommend testing with a different hardwired device to help isolate the issue, as speeds can vary from one device to another. Additionally, based on the image you shared and as @plemans mentioned, we’re curious whether the displayed value represents your subscribed speed plan (1200 Mbps) or the result of a speed test. We recommend reviewing your account to confirm your subscribed speed plan.

how are you testing speeds?

What site/app/device?

Try a different test server as some can’t max out a 2 gig connection

Makes me wonder if you actually have 2 gig service if thats what you’re plan is showing as. You might jump on the xfinity forums or their reddit threads and seeing if something there can help clarify/help out.
