is it broken and do i need to toss it and get a new one if so which Modem is recommended. Never had to restart my old SB5101 or the SB6121

What actually is going on? You gave very minimal details.
Is this a new purchase? An older device?
did you check with your ISP? Some of these devices go in a boot loop if they don’t detect a signal from the isp.
