MAC Filtering

Tech. dept--Advice: Add “Block” to any device(s) not on MAC Filtering List similar to Netgear. It only showed “Allowed,’ “Allow-All” or “Deny” mode which the latter turns on the MAC Filtering to block all devices. This would be a nice feature so that I can see which devices not on the list tried to access our router. I like to name my devices on MAC Filtering list and it requires the name from the device — some device(s) do not have a device name like our Wi-Fi camera.

Second, Arris Surfboard cable modem does not show local networks of all channels in my neighborhood so that I could select the best channel. Netgear cable modem does. If Arris Surfboard cable modem does have that feature, where is it.

We appreciate your feedback regarding MAC filtering and will pass it along. Additionally, there is a way to check the channels used by local networks in your neighborhood. Please refer to the link below for instructions on how to view this information

You rock. 😁 That was good. I checked it out and it was helpful, however, it does not show our Wi-Fi signal. I know which Wi-Fi channels I have set our devices on. It would help to see the connection with other neighbors. I looked for our MAC and did not see it listed. It has a few unknown SSID and I do not know what it means since I thought SSID was required for Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi Analyzer and inSSIDer Home by Meta Geeks helps, but not showing other neighbors. Wi-Fi Analyzer & Scanner only showed our Wi-Fi channels and recommendation on which channel is best for only 2.4 g. I rather have a Wi-Fi Scanner similar to Netgear N600 Wi-Fi cable modem/router be readily available on our Arris SURFBoard G36 cable modem/router.
