Hello, I just got my brand new Arris G34 Router and it has been a nightmare. I know it is working and had MAC activated with Sparklight, but when I dl the app to set up it errored and now will not allow me to change anything. I’ve reset router, reinstalled app and still same issue. It asks for my email and I never set a password. I tried the generic logins and no luck. Tried login on bottom, still no luck. The bar code on bottom will not scan. I don’t know why they have set up this way but the manual instructions stink, the recommendations do not work, and they are closed by time I get home. I am 24 hrs away from returning this thing. I have always bought Arris and 1st issue.
why not install it using the browser and not the app?

Found out after hrs...the only way that will work is if you unhook cable internet then factory reset - ethernet to the computer then set with default. If the cable is still hooked and you do not reset it consistently asks for email and password.. What I have found is this has been an issue with the WIFI 6 routers for over a yr it seems. I am on a new MOTO Razor and with that and a Newer Moto G and Newer Samsung +24 using T-Mobile and Verizon same issue on the app- error on gateway which is wrong due to it works on default user….In short the app is junk and a quick coding with the idea that all cable internet incorporation would link , completely impractical. Came to that conclusion when unhooked the cable from router. Really hoping someone also told him Santa don’t exist. Tried 2 company phones in case they turn around and try to blame that...even though they were connected to WIFI.. It is always the game of ‘pass the buck,’ just like their faulty error code that blames the gateway although its the handshake with cable internet and software. That was my first assumption since they haven’t updated their website that says 24x7 technical support and even their recording gives wrong hrs. of operation--even with time zone calculation of PST/CST. They used to be amazing, however now that they are trying to buy everyone else out I suppose laziness is long in coming. Luckily got final in on time and going to look into satellite internet.

unhook internet from the modem and keep unhooked . depress reset button count to 30 then release. Unplug from back plug back in. ethernet from lan 1 to computer tower KEEP INTERNET UNHOOKED. when light is solid blue pull up url type 192.168.0.1 it will redirect, then ‘admin ‘ for user id and ‘password’ for password not the quotations tho. Configure and change settings. Hooke up the internet to modem . unplug and replug and restart computer… BOOM! You’re in like flynn ;-)
