Can Xfinity push a SW batch to my G36 router that I personally own? I am having service issues ever few days and I have to restart my router to get the service back.

ARRIS develops the software update and makes it available to service providers. The service providers are responsible for qualifying, testing, and distributing the update to the devices within their network. Please note that ARRIS has limited control or visibility over the distribution process once it is handled by the service providers.
Since you mentioned that you are facing service issue, could you please elaborate the issue to check on this case further.

I’m having intermittent internet connection. Every few minutes the Internet service stops working then after some time the service is back to normal. Sometimes I have to restart the modem.

an xfinity technician came and checked the cables. Didn’t find anything.

I called xfinity and they mentioned something about SW push.

The issue I’m having it seems to be a synchronization issue.

Is there away for myself to do SW update manually and prevent Service provider Xfinity from pushing this update?

sync issues tend to be a line issue. Xfinity is great at saying “its a firmware issue” when they are the only ones who can push firmware to modems and modem/router combo devices. Nothing the user or manufacturer can do on these devices.

I was thinking the same, but I need to hear other opinions to this matter, Thanks for sharing @plemans.

Xfinity already came to my house and investigated the coax lines and did not find any issue. So maybe the issue is somewhere else.

I’ve had to rent a unit before to prove to xfinity it wasn’t my “3rd party” equipment. Or it could be the equipment. while it tends to be line issues, there is the rare time its a modem issue

I already replaced my modern with upgraded one and still having the issue. Thanks for sharing. I’ll try to have xfinity to check the coax lines again.
