When I try to change the 2.4 network name and password I get a spinning circle for about a minute, then it ges back to original name and password. Any suggestions?

I suggest trying to change the Wi-Fi credentials on GUI web portal (192.168.0.1) and please let us know if you are experiencing the same issue.

Are you trying to change the wifi credentials on the modem GUI or on the surfboard central app?
Please try the basic trouble shooting before logging in the GUI like restarting modem and resetting so this will help the modem to get the GUI reach the server, also try changing the 5G wifi credentials to isolate the issue.
