Hello, I have an issue with my router that has been going on for about 1 week . We constantly lose our wifi and the router then will blink green . This happens about 6-10 times a day. My question is … Is there an update that needs to happen or is this non router related ?

What router?

Most Arris routers are router/modem combo devices. And there isn’t anyway to update the firmware on them. Its part of the provisioning from the ISP.

From your description of it blinking green, it almost sounds like its loosing connection to the ISP.

Your logs can help determine that. Plus you can check with the ISP

As @plemans  mentioned regarding the firmware update, DOCSIS standards dictate that the service provider must distribute firmware updates to cable modem devices.  The end-user cannot simply install an update like most other network-enabled devices.

ARRIS develops the software update and makes it available to service providers.  The service providers qualify, test, and distribute the software update to devices on their network.  ARRIS has limited control or visibility on distribution by the service providers.

Additionally, regarding your product selection (G34/G36), could you please confirm which model you currently own?

Also, please provide the name of your internet service provider along with the speed plan you have subscribed to.

As mentioned, the gateway appears to be blinking green, which suggests that it may be intermittently losing its internet connection with your service provider.
