I just moved into a new home and bought the G34 so I do not have to rent a router from Cox. However, Cox could not fully activate the G34 because my home has fiberoptic, not cable. But is there any way to use the G34 as a router only?

Using G34 as just the router is not possible. you can use the G34 as just a cable modem by enabling bridge mode but there is no option to use it as just the Router.

Also, please note Arris doesn't support “Fiber Optics” and only supports “Co-axial Cable “connection for the internet.
