Zoom keeps skipping and lagging on my I-pad Pro (latest generation) ever since I installed the new Arris G34.  I was told by my IT department that the Wifi6 seems to be the issue.

Anyone know how to disable the wifi6 either on the I-pad or router?

sounds like you IT department is just throwing out wag’s (wild a** guesses). Wifi 6 shouldn’t cause any issues and I’ve used zoom on wifi 6, 6e, and 7 perfectly fine.

  1. what speeds do you pay for upload and download?
  2. does it happen on all networks or just yours?
  3. are you using a vpn to connect back to your work?

My DWN is 600MBPS and UP is 23 MBPS.

No VPN.

I just switched the Ipad over to the 2.4 network and the zoom seemed to work fine today?  Strange!

2.4ghz tends to have more interference, not less. Plus its a slower network.
Maybe you have interference on the 5ghz channels you’re using. You could try changing it to a different channel.

Hmmm…..I went to try and login on my router to change the 5ghz channels and somehow the Surfboard app changed my user name at 192.168.0.1 from “admin” to “email address.”  However when I go to login it says incorrect email address. Not sure how the app managed that but I can’t recover whatever email address it thinks I inputted.

This is a cable modem that needed to be authorized by Xfinity.  Anyone know if I do a hard reset (and can then reset my username and password) will that affect the authorization by Xfinity or is that based on the existing fixed MAC address?

A factory reset does not affect the activation, which was done by Xfinity.

If you performed a factory reset, all the customised credentials will be changed to default settings, and you have to customize them again.
