G54 no time adjustment

I login as Admin to G54 > Gateway > Time

I set the time server (time.google.com)

I manually set US/Eastern Timezone

Yet my router continues to be 4 hours ahead…

No adjustments… Cannot manually set time...

Just went in and checked mine. I’m using the 0.us.pool.ntp.org and 1.us.pool.ntp.org

its working on mine. I changed it to several different time zones. Make sure to hit save time setting on the bottom.

I set my time servers back to .us.pool.ntp.org and 1.us.pool.ntp.org but ANY time server will only sync if just a few minutes off… Not when it’s 4 hours off… Still no adjustments… Frustrating….

I just redid it and took a video. Not sure if it helps but when I compare to the actual time, its accurate to the time.

You can see the video here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZcEWPPDitcKHcchq9

Thanks for the video… But… When I change timezones or 12 to 24 hours format, on MY G54, the time remains the same… It’s always 4 hours ahead of US/Eastern… Even when I select US/Hawaii, the time stays the same...

got your own video so I can see what you’re doing? And your settings?

If you use screensnip, there’s a video option. then I just stuck mine in my google photos in a shared album with the link

I don’t have movie snips, but here is US/Eastern…

US/Alaska… Time stays the same… And yes, I hit Save settings each time...

Mine doesn’t have the “manual/automatic” selection option.

Try a different web browser?

I am able to make other changes using the same browser, just not the time… Arris Consumer Support is not up despite being within the “open” for chat hours… I can call them, but not until Monday…  Thanks for trying to help me though…  A power cycle is my next thought… But this was an issue straight out of the box...

Power cycled… Now I am able to change timezones manually, but the router apparently doesn’t understand daylight savings time as it applies to the East Coast… I am still an hour off… Getting closer… But no cigar...

Combo Modem/Router… Updates Only from ISP?

Having other ‘weirdness’ too, but will create a different topic

Forum|alt.badge.img+17

Hello @padoughty,

Thank you for the firmware version. The firmware updates for cable modem devices are handled by ISP.  Who is your ISP by the way?  Did you recently installed the G54 and did the time zone setup worked before?

ISP = Comcast/Xfinity…

Timezone has never worked…

Some time zones are Indiana/East (Doesn’t exist) and it 1 hours off from EDT (Acting like Central)

Inidana/Starke (Never heard of this one) 2 hours off EDT - Like Mountain time

US/Eastern - 1 hour off like Central

Automatic = 4 hours ahead!

Hello @padoughty,

We don’t have a resolution for the time zone setup at the moment.  I notice your G54 firmware hasn’t been updated and suggest reaching out to our live support for warranty replacement at arris.com/consumersupport.
