Why are multiple G54’s not working on Xfinity?

I recently sent my last Arris G54 in because Xfinity said it didn’t work (after about 7 months of working flawlessly). After receiving a replacement, I setup another Xfinity Tech Appointment.

The Tech took almost an hour trying to get the replacement to work, but it also can’t get a signal. Could it be that the replacement Arris sent me was also defective? Or is Xfinity trying to swindle me into paying for a rental? At this point, I don’t know what to believe.

I apologize for the inconvenience. I understand you're trying to activate the modem with your ISP. Could you please check and provide the current LED light status on the modem?

Is the Wi-Fi network name appearing on your devices?

Have you attempted a power cycle or performed a factory reset on the modem?

Did you try self-activation through the Xfinity app?

Additionally, please check the IPv4 address on your connected device.

1 product failure? yes.

when 2 are having issues, then it becomes less likely.

Can it happen? For sure. Is it incredible rare and more likely a line issue? probably
