As the title states, weak wifi security. Arris support, when will the new firmware be out to support WAP2/AES?

Can’t use the product in its current state.

Also, if the device shows a weak security warning, it is because as mentioned earlier the Wi‑Fi security mode is set to TKIP. This is a hardware limitation and cannot be changed or upgraded through a firmware update

Could you please confirm the model number of your product?

Model: Surfboard MAX WC4T

This model provides more than enough horsepower for my needs, as my home internet connection typically delivers speeds of 250–300 Mbps download and 20–80 Mbps upload.

The device clearly supports secure Wi‑Fi configurations, including WPA2 with AES encryption.

While attempting to enable a Guest Wi‑Fi network, I noticed that the option is available and functions as expected. However, the same option does not appear to be available for the Main Wi‑Fi Network.

Additionally, when connecting to the Guest network, I do not receive the warning message:

“Weak Security – WPA/WPA2 (TKIP is not considered secure).”

This warning only appears when connecting to the Main Wi‑Fi Network.

Guest Wi‑Fi network:

If there is beta firmware, I am willing to test it. If not, when will a new firmware be released to address this issue?

As mentioned earlier, this is a hardware limitation and cannot be modified or upgraded through a firmware update. Firmware updates are applied automatically.

We recommend removing the routers from the app, performing a factory reset, and then setting them up again. After completing the setup, please check if the issue is resolved.

There is no option to select the security type on the mAX DASH WC4S/T, either during the initial setup or after the setup is complete.
