Surfboard Central App Crashes Setting Up W130

I’ve spent a total of days trying to figure out how to set up and access the network settings of the W130 mesh system. I can set up wifi, but the app crashes on multiple devices (spanning Android 9 to 15) if I touch any area of my screen to access any menus after very initial setup.

Given the number of complaints and that the software, with these issues, hasn’t been updated since Feb 24th (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arris.sbc&hl=en_US), when can we expect the app to actually be fixed?

Once the main router is set up, please wait for approximately 15 minutes to allow it to optimize. During this time, you may see a message at the top indicating that the network is being optimized. Once that message disappears, proceed to power on the satellite.

Wait until the satellite flashes rapidly with alternating blue and white lights—this indicates that it is ready to pair. Then, check your Bluetooth settings for a device named 'Surfboard Onboarding'.

If all these steps are completed and the app still crashes when you try to add the satellite, please uninstall and reinstall the Surfboard Central app. You do not need to reset the main router again. After reinstalling, sign in using the same email address you used during the initial setup of the main router. The app should then take you directly to the home screen, as the router is already onboarded.

Also, please ensure that your mobile phone’s software is up to date. If there are any pending updates, please install them first and then try onboarding the satellite again.

Lastly, kindly confirm the version of the Surfboard Central app you have installed, as there are currently no updates available.

Could you please elaborate on your concern regarding the setup of the SURFboard mAX W130 system? Specifically, were you able to successfully configure it with one main router and one satellite unit?

Additionally, please let us know the current LED light status on both mesh units, as this will help us better understand their connectivity and operational state.

Lastly, could you clarify at which point the SURFboard central app crashes or fails during the setup process? T

I can configure one main unit (doesn’t matter which) up to broadcasting wifi (solid blue with WAN access), but I can’t add a satellite OR perform any additional settings changes due to the app crashing. Once the app crashes, it requires the cache and app data to be cleared and unit to be factory reset. The app will not reconnect to the set up router.

The app being used is here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arris.sbc&hl=en_US, which hasn’t had a software update since February 2025.

The app still crashes even after waiting 45 minutes. Every time it crashes, I have to clear cache/data on the app to force a login to try to reconnect to the device.

App uninstalled and reinstalled, still crashes after waiting >20 minutes.

Phone software is up to date.

The app is SURFboard Central, v4.3.5. This is a common issue with this app based on the app’s reviews on the Google Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arris.sbc&hl=en_US .

Try reinstalling the app on a different mobile device and sign in using the email address you used to onboard the main router. Then try adding the satellite

Per my initial post, I’ve tried multiple devices spanning Android 9 to 15.
