Unable to Set up Satellite on W130

Forum|alt.badge.img

I am trying to set up the W130 using Surfboard Central. And am experiencing the following:

  1. Surfboard Central App doesn’t retain settings on main router.  Every time I open the app it attempts to walk me through set again and again.
  2. During setup the app stalled and crashed while trying to add the satellite.  I have yet to get the satellite working.

Things I have done so far:

  1. Tried set up on both android and iphone devices.
  2. Factory reset router and went through setup again….and again.
  3. Cleared cache/data in the app.  This sometimes allows me to get to the management screen, but no devices appear connected to the router, despite there being more than 20 connected devices.  If I try to go through the Add Satellite setup, the app stalls and ultimately crashes.

What in the heck can I do to either get these routers working properly?  Or, what is my recourse for warranty replacement or refund?

More importantly the main router should be a solid blue light, indicating it is properly set up.

Make sure that the satellite is rapidly flashing blue and white, indicating it is in setup mode. And also place it near the main router for the satellite setup.

For more information, please refer to the link below, which provides details on the LED light statuses for the Max router.

I am having the same exact problems. After several installs and uninstalls I have finally got both w30s in the w130 Mesh to connect and work. But the app is still buggy and once it crashed again, it now only starts with the "Get Started" screen. PLEASE update the app with an option to log in.

After 3 weeks of attempts and reattempts, and fruitless efforts with Arris tech support, I ended up returning the w130s and went with a tp-link.

The TP-Link took all of 15 minutes to set up and it's app hasn't crashed on me yet.

I guess the ARRIS brand isn't what it used to be.

I recommend restarting your phone, as the app might be optimizing in the background. If it still loops back to the onboarding step, try logging in on a different phone to rule out the root cause.
