I have a Promax W31 router that is connected to a S33 modem. Surfboard as set up on an old android device. Today I rebooted the router and that caused a major issue. I've confirmed the modem and internet work fine.

After having to reboot the Promax w31 router, I could not get the app to recognize the router. I tried all of the tips including unplugging and plugging in the modem, the router; and uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

I was informed that due to a batch update of Android 14 and 15, the app will not recognize the router. I was told there was not a workaround. Has anyone with Android 14 or 15 figured out how to get the app out of the loop and to actually recognize the router?

While onboarding the mAX 31 and 30 pairs using Bluetooth, we encountered an issue where the Bluetooth connection is not being detected due to a patch update on Android versions 14 and 15. We are actively working with Android to resolve this.

In the meantime, I recommend performing a Bluetooth reset on your mobile phone. You can also try restarting your device, checking for any software updates, and applying them if available before starting the onboarding process again.

If the issue persists, I would suggest attempting the setup on a device running Android 13 or lower, if that’s an option for you.

Thank you for your patience as we work on fixing the issue.

Got an old android phone/tablet sitting around you could install with? Might be a faster option

Unfortunately, I don’t have another device and could not get the router to recognize the App despite at least 12 attempts. Going without wifi is not an option and I had to buy a new router after having spent $155 on the W31 just 1.5 years ago.
