Hello i have the W21 mesh router and i want to make my wifi speeds slower because im almost at my data limit for my ISP. If i use more than my threshold, they will charge me fees. How do i limit my wifi speeds? I have tried it on the surfboard central app and there are no such settings, and the surfboard max app doesnt work either. I assume the w21 isnt supported by that app.

The surfboard central app has barely any functionality. I have had super cheap routers with much more capability in the settings.

Limiting your speed is doubtful to limit your data usage. If you want to limit your data usage, reduce your streaming or set your streaming quality down. Or reduce your torrenting.

You can only use surfboard central app with the W21. I don’t recall seeing that feature in the app when I had the W21s.  Might need to create an Idea post for feature request.

Its sad to see such an expensive router system claiming to be hi tech, but missing the most basic features all lower budget routers have.

I have several quite high end systems without this feature. It isn’t common because it puts a load on the routers processor to filter traffic or bandwidth. And it can actually slow your service down and create other issues.

Figuring out what's actually using all the data is the key.

Most android/windows devices have the capability to data monitor so you can see what is using the data.
