I have the same questions. I have two W121’s...one connects...the other doesn’t. /the only way I could get even one to work was to connect a LAN connection into the WAN port. I could never see the private surfboard-onboarding wi-fi network that is supposed to popup. This may be because these W121s were previously connected to a different ARRIS surfboard.

If you connect one of the W121 routers, it appears that you are unable to see the private SURFboard-onboarding Wi-Fi.
