Question

Can I ask a CM8200A question?

Forum|alt.badge.img

I know this is a SB Board, but I have a CM8200A I am using (same as the SB8200 in some ways).

My question is more about the Web Interface rather than the modem itself. I am use to LinkSys web interface with I find palatable. On the CM8200A Web Interface, I seem to be missing a “Clear” button for the event log and the status page. A clear button helps me to see exactly what is going on without having to look through the clutter (if I may). There are events dated 1969 which I understand is standard if the device does not have it’s clock set. On the bottom of the Status Page, the clock time seems to be 7 hours ahead of my local time. Possibly not getting a time signal from the ISP, don’t know.

OK… enough of that. Now for the question… Is there any way (other than a factory reset) to clear the log and the status?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can ask a question about the Arris CM8200A cable modem. It's a DOCSIS 3.1 modem that supports high-speed internet connections. You can ask about its features, compatibility with internet providers, or any specific issues monkey type  you might be experiencing with it. It looks like the CM8200 is capable of 5GB down and 1GB up, but it looks  like the ports are 1GB? I know there are issues with the way the CM8200 is configured.  The ARRIS Touchstone® CM8200 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem provides significantly higher downstream (send) and upstream (receive) Internet connection speeds over the broadband connection on your home or small business network. You use the CM8200 to directly connect a computer to your LAN through an Ethernet connection.

ARRIS supports only the retail products that are available on surfboard.com but not the ISP lease products. Please contact your ISP for further assistance.

Thanks for the reply. I did not lease this modem from my ISP, I purchased it on Amazon. But interesting enough, there was no mention that this was NOT a residential cable modem, in essence a misrepresentation by the seller.

Thanks again.
