Complete factory reset

How can I perform a complete factory reset that will return the WiFi name and password to the information listed on the gateway modem? I cannot remember the user name and passkey I set up and the admin reset does not work to reset the user name and passkey.

Try holding down the reset button for 20 seconds or until all the front LED lights are off.

If you have a Windows computer that is connected to the Wi-Fi network, you can retrieve the Wi-Fi password from the PC.  On your PC, go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.  Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter and select Status.  Click on Wireless Properties > Security tab and then check mark Show characters to display the Network security key.

What device do you have? (you didn’t put a model)

Most of them have a factory reset button you can push.

You push and hold it while the device is powered on for usually 7-15 seconds or until the lights change.
